Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Bot-bashing de luxe.

Dynamo Morpork 389/2 (50 overs, Herbert 177*, Virk 159; Cleverley 2-87)
Five Islands CC 66 (18.1 ovs, Stockley 25*, Extras 19; Harris 4-3, Fear 3-11)

Slightly peeved at conceding more extras than them, though. Three teams tied on 24 points in third place now, but the guy I'm playing next is evidently going to rest everything on his match with me.

Next up I face first place who have an eight points lead. I'll probably PAN since team fitness is at low and TIE the rest of the games. Might consider GFIng but it wouldn't be worth it. Just want to consolidate second place and hold on to it for the rest of the season to get a psychological edge next season.

He's very low competent, so it depends on the strength of your team. If you've not got that much batting, I'd be giving him two batting nets, and probably a fitness as well.

Not really. He would've just been medciore bat, competent bowl. Yes, he had good keeping, but I've not yet seen anyone who's put ITS on keeping.

Anyway, my YP. Have decided to save all my ITS for next season, as I already have way too many trainees, and because it's ending relatively soon. My academy's dropped to strong as well, so I'll wait till next season to repair it.

Hmm... best I could've got was proficient with mediocre stamina and consistency, so not too disappointed.

Had a nice win yesterday, beating NorCricket again. I was expecting to win this time round as their fitness and morale has taken a bit of a hit, but still nice to put one over the reigning champs. He got screwed over by one of his openers taking 124 balls to score 62 on a hard and fast pitch. Cuss only scored six, Wynand starred with the bat this time and probably saved himself from a trip to the transfer market as well. :p Watkins was pretty impressive, made some quick runs and bowled a very tight spell.

NorCricket United 274-4
Louis 2-45, Malik 2-60, Watkins 0-21

Asterix XI 275-4 (45.3 overs)
Wynand 117* (114), Watkins 73 (61), Malik 39* (48)

Seam Bowling: remarkable respectable

Was a PAN. Still leaves me in 4th place due to NRR, equal on points with 2nd and 3rd. Relatively easy games for the next three weeks before a potentially league-deciding match against Doobie Bombers, really need to pick up my NRR though.

Managed to sell Poole (22yo strong/feeble spinner, mediocre stam) for 842k, roughly 300k more than I bought him for earlier this season. I've got a 700k bid on this guy:

Allan Thatcher (85471)
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, proficient bowling form, sublime
A cautious player with superb leadership skills and woeful experience.

Plays For: Adams Annhilators
Nationality: New Zealand
Age: 21 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 101,697
Wages: £18,061 p/w
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: abysmal Concentration: superb
Bowling: competent Consistency: phenomenal
Fielding: strong

Bit of an expensive luxury and I don't really know if he'll be any good, wages obviously a bit burdensome as well but meh. If I don't get him I think I'll just hang on to the money for a while, I've got >1.6m now so will be able to get max interest.

What are you going to be using him for, Adam? He'd be decent enough in FC, but surely he'd take a beating in your league. Good captain and fielder though.

Yeh i cannot see why you would waste 700k on that guy.

Dunno, novelty value. He'd only be my second spinner so not really that important, would just use him to play a containing role rather than a wicket-taking one, and I assume the secondaries will help in that regard. Quite possible that he'll be hit around a bit though, my current worst bowler (prof/med/med) got hit for 0-85 yesterday. In any case I assume he'll be better than Poole, who I sold for more.

Definitely not too far off it. Maybe four weeks or so with one net?
