my team does rely heavily on a few players though

William Keane 24w@21.04
Jonathan Gradley 152runs@30.40, 35w@13.37
Keiran Lawrence 758runs@58.31
William Macauley 18w@24.06
Wayne Mills 289runs@28.90, 24w@18.00
Daniel Steadhart (keeper) 685runs@62.27

Soi have 4 solid bowlers, 2 decent batsmen, including a decent wicketkeeper, and two guys who can contribute with the bat. I have high hopes for Gene Purser(batsman) and Peter Wilmott(bowler). But i guess i really need another 2/3 batsmen.

You think you rely heavily on a few players...

Sol Cuss 1313 runs @ 145.89
Reon Berry 1051 runs @ 95.55 and 23 wickets @ 29.26
Sterling Gillespie 55 wickets @ 10.49 and 421 runs @ 38.27

Between those three, they have about 2/3rds of my runs and 2/3rds of my wickets. Basically all of my bowlers suck apart from Gillespie, although I picked up a proficient bowler on the transfer market who seems to be doing well so far. My batting is actually fairly strong (9 players with batting skill between competent and superb) but Cuss and Berry usually bat for a long time, so I've only got one other batsman with more than 500 runs (because he opens). I've got two others who average over 100 inflated by not-outs though. :p

Best of my bowlers are:
Gillan 33W @ 17
Townshend 25W @ 15
Binns 20W @ 23
Longrigg 19W @ 20

Nice balanced bowling lineup, wish I had one...here's what my bowlers have managed:

Gillespie 55w@10.49 (hooray)
Male 11w@28.00 (not too bad, just picked him up recently, hopefully will improve)
Berry 23w@29.26 (passable for an allrounder)
Oddy 13w@44.69 (boo!)
Badley 10w@48.50 (boo! Disappointing so far given that he's supposed to be 'respectable', hopefully will improve)
Holt 4w@50.00 (hasn't played much... but he took 4-0 against Steds in a friendly :p)
Booth 1w@164.00 (terrific stats... selling him on the transfer market right now, current bid = 10k)

It's a bit annoying because all of those bowlers apart from Booth are competent or better, so should be getting half-decent stats. Maybe i'm giving them the wrong orders or something.

interesting stuff...
my batsmen
Hamshaw 789 @ 71
Holmes 378 @ 47
Fry, 256 @ 36
Lennon, 357 @ 35
Wheat, 463 @ 33
Livermore, 270 @ 30
Cuss, 207 @ 23
Willets, 42 @ 14

Basically this list is comprised of all my batsmen, and other players who aren't meant to be batsmen, but who have done a decent job with the bat up till this point. Hamshaw has been the only player who has been consistently consistent. This season I'm expecting big things from Fry and Lennon. I have got extra faith in Hamshaw tbh...

my bowlers...
Henshaw 35 @ 13
Holmes 30 @ 15

These two are the key to my bowling line up. I have this Australian in my lineup, who just hasn't fired yet. If he can turn it around this season I should have a very solid unit this season, provided my other two bowlers, Hamshaw and Sheffield can bowl okay too...

Batsmen:

Lester 1019 @ 127.38
Lewis 567 @ 68.81 - the opening pair. Chased down 150 without loss in the recent cup game.
Cable 450 @ 45.00
Marsden 145 @ 36.25 - wickie, 34 catches and six stumpings, a lot of not outs
Angell 322 @ 24.77 - hasn't really lived up to the number three spot
Goodhead 113 @ 113 - only dismissed once, bright future

Bowlers

Tuck 39 @ 12.36
Fear 36 @ 17.64 - admittedly highly skewed figures by some fun games, but they really do take wickets for fun
Wrigley 19 @ 18.89 - dropped late on in the season for
Prest 8 @ 29.38 - guess who's going out
Harris 18 @ 18.06 - up and coming Aussie talent, replaced skipper Lyndon John in the side late on last season and did splendidly

The flops:

Donovan 4 runs @ 1.33, Pollard 95 runs @ 13.57, John 11 wickets @ 31.82 and 1 run @ 0.20
Lewis 8 @ 60.25, econ 3.54 - his fast bowling was never supposed to be penetrative, but he's doing an excellent containment job.

Hmm - 10 overs 1-66 sees form drop from Respectable to Competent.
Same match my bowler has 7-39 and his form goes from Respectable to Mediocre?

Made a few quid on the transfer market tonight.

25yo proficient keeper with worthless batting: £12,000
25yo proficient keeper with feeble batting: £31,000
27yo mediocre bowler: £12,000
24yo mediocre bowler: £10,000

Not a bad haul for a few oldish players I never used anyway. Hopefully I'll also be able to sell my youth pull (19yo with feeble bowling) even if it's only for one or two grand. That puts my bank balance up around £530,000. I'm thinking of expanding my stadium either today or tomorrow, so that it will be ready in time for my first home game. It will cost around £300,000 or maybe a little more if I go for a really big upgrade, but a sellout crowd will bring in around £120,000 per game.

Form has nothing to do with on-field performances - kinda sensible, really, otherwise all the poor players would be in "worthless" form and all the good players would be "superb"

I want to sign up for Australia, but the waiting list is way too long, so I'm waiting for Pakistan.. When's this seasong oing to finish?

Season's only just started, so another 15 weeks. The waiting list for Australia is only 13 though, and 2 for Pakistan, so you shouldn't have to wait too long for either.

Dunno... managers get booted if they are inactive for seven weeks, so if you applied now you'd definitely get it within that time (I think that's how it works, anyway...). It will probably be less than that though.

Ground expansion done... £320,875. Ouch.

A bit annoyed though - it said it would take 10 days, which should mean that it will be done by 7/10, in time for my home game. But now it says it will be done on 8/10, meaning I miss out on potentially £125,125 and settle for £40,000-odd instead. Should've done it yesterday.

For the record:

Uncovered: 7,000
Covered: 1,925
Members: 700

I see the England waiting list has gone down to 3, and there's no waiting list for South Africa, Pakistan or Sri Lanka. interesting indeed! I want to be in Australia though, so I'll have to wait :D
