Well done Scaly, looks like you're home and hosed for the league if not the match, likewise Mahindinho, congrats!

Does anyone know if there's a set time at which match commentary becomes available to members? Or is it just whenever the server pulls its finger out of it's arse. It's just that I've had to go to a colleague's mother's funeral this afternoon, and my match had finished by the time I got back. But when I click on the "View Match Commentary" link, it tells me that the match is still in progress. If I can watch it again by five or so, then I'll hold on, but I'm nearly breaking to the temptation of just looking at the scorecard.

Shame too, as it was shaping up for a much better match than I'd anticipated. When I had to leave, I'd won the toss and reached 189/2 after 38 - Cash 69* (75) (On V.Def!), Greening 49* (58). Earlier Staveley 33 and Patel 34 had put 67 on for the first wicket.

If all went well in my absense, then I could have reached close to 300, which could have been enough to bottle up their gun with my defensive bowling and pick off the weaker batsmen. If I had a bad last twelve overs, then I may only have made 230'ish, which I imagine they'll have cruised pretty comfortably.

And then of course there's everything in between! Later, Trev

You should have to wait longer than half an hour at the most Trev. Games are *all* done by 5, everything else like league tables, PFLs, morale etc. is usually sorted soon after.

Cheers!

I'm looking forward to seeing with whom I'll be sharing a II league next season.

Well, Trev, you lost your third wicket at 242...then 264, 264, 267, 267, 274 and 283.

Do you want to know how your opponents got on..?

Mahindinho, without giving away who won, is it worth my while hanging on to watch it? Was it a good game either way?- That's a score towards the upper end of my predicted field, so I might just have managed to ramp their RRR up to a winning level.

Going to be interesting anyway,

Holy... the team in second place in my division was 233-1 and got bowled out for 247...

One bowler took 7 of those 9 collapse wickets. No. 5 batsman was stranded on 5* off 8.

Ah, Armstrong tops the IV.4 batting averages with 175.20 at a strike rate 102.5. Dillon was 3rd because he had a ton of not outs. Packer 8th. In the bowling averages I had 6th, 7th and 8th positions all with an average of 15 point something.

Won my match pretty comfortable against one of the half decent sides in the comp. Ellis got his HS of 139 (130). Jeithoon got 3/23 and Muralitharan got 4/39. These were the ratings:

Top: Respectable
Middle: Competent
Lower: Worthless
Seam: Mediorce
Spin: Competent
Fielding: Woeful

First ever Competent spin bowling rating, but Murali played as lone spinner.

As it is the end of the season my show my top 5 batsmen and bowlers:

Batsmen
Phil Nurse - 585 runs @ 117.00
Hamid Ellis - 563 runs @ 70.38
Marc Ferrier - 552 runs @ 78.86
Doug Clayton - 506 runs @ 56.22
Jason Quintin - 377 runs @ 75.40

Bowlers
Anton Baptiste - 30 wkts @ 15.20
Tristain Dowdall - 28 wkts @ 17.71
Prsanna Jeithoon - 26 wkts @ 17.31
Geoff Kinsella - 21 wkts @ 13.14
Kavith Priyantha - 21 wkts @ 25.00

My batsmen didn't get many chances to bat, as they were chasing a lot of small totals. Also i rotated the batting line up a lot to try some different things out. Next season i should have a lot more of a stable batting line up.

The bowlers got rotated a lot too with all eight bowlers getting a lot of games. Muralitharan finished the season off well taking 19 wkts @ 22.89, as well as 171 runs. Considering both him and Jeithoon hardly played a game at the start of the season, im very happy with the way they finished.

Owned by an NT bat today, he got 152* off 123 balls as they chased 286 with five down. Another fairly poor bowling performance, may have to look to invest in someone. Loss fairly inconsequential though, will finish 5th and have a play-off which I'll probably win next week.

still a unlikely possibility that my side can promote to the top league in NZ today. we'll win our match. this i am very sure of. however, we need the top side, waitakere. to lose their match. the top side has 2 nz nt players, tim carbon and nathan etherington, in their squad. their opponent, the blondebombshells, has one in nigel henshaw. if henshaw can fire, whilst carbon and etherington are restricted in what they can do, perhaps it'll be heartbreak for waitakere. hope so anyway, although i ultimately doubt that this happen

this has been a good season. whatever happens today we have established ourselves as one of the top 20 sides in NZ imo. we should start the cup next season as 13th seeds, so our cup run should last at least 9 rounds, which could potentially jeopardise our cw bt cup campaign. speaking the cw bt cup we've also maintained our record as having made at least every semi final. perhaps the icing on the cake would be our second title come monday. woah yeah

Slightly surprised to have gotten this guy, I just thought I'd give it one last bid then did something else for 15 minutes and came back to find I'd got him. He's not a bargain or anything (well there's a little bit of extra value in there because the BTR is about 35% up the range).

I had 2.6m in the bank so figured I may as well buy someone around the 1m mark, will interest (financially) on this player - won't hardly get any on the 1.12m I spent.

Hmmm. 2.777 million in the bank, but I need to get two decent bowlers for DIV III next season. Especially since im going to be promoting to one of the better leagues finishing so high, in the promotion tables. Is there any way of telling which league you'll be promoted to next season?

Predictably got a crap draw in my playoff:

The Lost Boys
Top Order: masterful
Middle Order: feeble
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: mediocre
Spin Bowling: respectable
Fielding: feeble

Most teams I'd beat easily, but this one on a hard and fast is going to be tough. Obviously if I get 2 of their top 3 reasonably early they're screwed, but that hardly ever happens in Battrick. I've got a few batsmen I can promote to hammer their bowling.
