End of Over 50: 287-4, runrate=5.74
Shipp 10-0-62-3
Dillon* 69 (51 balls)
Preece 16 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Wheat lbw b. Shipp 102 (FOW: 222/4)

Dillon scored 58 off 33 balls in the slog over period, Preece was obviously a bit crappy in comparison.

Puts Dillon's stats for the season at a batting average of 79.33 at a strike rate of 120.81.

I have Summers bowling the 5 of the last 10, so I'm massive favourite to a defend a score that'll take most of the 50 to chase.

End of Over 8: 29-2, runrate=3.63, reqrunrate=3.45 (173-10)
Easton 4-1-15-2
Pollard* 3 (2 balls)
Paris 1 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Findlay c. Duffy b. Easton 10 (FOW: 26/2)

Hmmm makes it interesting....

Despite this being Friday 13th and all, at lunch I'm relatively confident that both matches will go the way I want them to. The Gurs eventually managed to strangle out Victoria Drivers, with Bewers rattling through the middle order to finish with 10/0/36/5, and Wilde picking up two tail-enders, to bowl out The Drivers for 209. Tenius top scored with 74 from 128 tortuous deliveries, supported by the no less sedentary Hardy with 60 from 99.

Meanwhile in the heart of Kent, 3rd Wrong'uns dismissed 2nd Who's Your Daddy for 210, and look set for the chase with a Sup top order against a Prof rated all-seam attack on a Dusty strip. If The Gurs slip up, then whoever wins that match will carry their promotion ambitions into the final week of the season.

...and McGregor wins it with a 4!

I really didn't expect a win, never mind the absolute kicking that my lot handed out in the end -- I should get almost +2 on the NRR, and a slim chance at finishing 2nd.

Fair enough, can you tell wether or not he's at least a quarter of the way there?
Nope.

As usual someone flicks a switch in my Battrick game and Preece my strong-sensational bowler on defensive and Tynan my high prof medium pacer get completely hammered.

And I'm a sports journalist because?...Wrong'uns are confounding my confident predictions by making a right cat's arse of chasing a moderate 211 for victory over Who's Your Daddy, languishing on 74/5 after 19. Leonard and Greo, in at the moment, aren't Muppets, but there's nowt with whom you'd trust a bat after them!

So just as well my own run chase is going kind'a according to plan. Lost Greening early on for 17, but Staveley's taking up the slack on 55* (58), supported by Noon, 21* (41). Currently 91/1 after 19.

More like it from Preece:

End of Over 23: 92-5, runrate=4.00, reqrunrate=7.26 (287-4)
Preece 5-0-20-2
Eastwood* 1 (3 balls)
Babb 1 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Maccallum c. Obrien b. Preece 23 (FOW: 91/5)

Automatic promotion is all but secured.

Coates* 20 (27 balls)
Paris 54 (69 balls)

Last Wicket: Jefferson b. Mcdonagh 12 (FOW: 95/4)

44 runs from getting a promotion game.

Mcmillan 7/48 (9.0)

You have to say, Mcmillan is pretty stiff to miss out on MoM. He's really stepped up this season, averaging about 250 with the bat and 13 with the ball.

I'm definitely playing a playoff now, so I'll just PAN my last league game and save TF for it. Ratings were pretty 'meh', but I'm pretty sure both batting ratings are close to Strong. Also got feeble fielding. :D

Bot bashing to finish up the season:

Beard XI won by 8 wickets.
Daves Dynamos 157-10
Beard XI 158-2

Bizarrely, the leader of my league appears to be throwing his match against our league's worst bot. The only reason I can think of is that he's trying to get out of the auto-promotion slots so he can throw his playoff and remain in our league. All very strange. Still, I've no objection to him staying, since I reckon I'll be able to beat him by next season (famous last words :)).

Hmmm, maybe that's what happened in my match. The team certainly isn't good enough to cut it in Div I.
