Clapo's XI 330-4 (50)
Stroud 122(121) Orourke 71(85) Ludlow 49(40) Meyer *40(25)
Watts 1-52(10) Lebohang 1-67(10) Mohan, Lynn & Sekhon 1-69(10)

Alternative XI 163-10 (37.1)
Gratton 81(98) Giles 41(68) Edgehill 19(21)
Groves 4-28(8.1) Savage 2-21(7) Meyer 2-50(7)

A pleasing win again. Probably the most pleasing thing was that Groves took 4-fer, and my bowling attack managed to bowl a team out for a smallish total without Meyer doing a great deal.

Another crap display from Summers. Gets one good batsman out and one rubbish batsman out in his first two overs and does sod all after that apart from give away runs at 3.9 an over... what a load of nonsense.

Very disappointed at that loss, the thing that really pisses me off is two of my best batsmen got run out to an abysmal fielding side. I get the feeling that quality of the bowler bowling has more to do with run outs then fielders, but still its annoying. I don't think i'll be playing dusty anytime soon, as my spinner couldn't make the most of it and the seamer struggled.

Well i finally got a proficient top order and respectable seam bowling, didn't make much difference.

Howell 47 (84 balls)

Last Wicket: Honey st. Armstrong b. Tynan 69 (FOW: 138/3)

Took long enough to get the third wicket. They're very collapsable, I'll be somewhat irritated if they don't collapse in a heap early into the slog overs.

Last two wickets put on 21 to drag it out. *Should* chase that down easily.

Pretty close encounter against Sad Decadent XI today, lost by 8 runs.

MOTM definitely Abdul Kadir 2, scored an unbeaten 96 out of his 152.

Looks like Battrick is keeping up its tradition of coming up with pure bull to knock me out of the cup.

Now Preece lasts 3 balls and Dillon 1. They'd better of GFIed because this is an absolute joke going by ratings otherwise.

They didn't GFI, so I just basically got Battrick screwed. Armstrong got 76* out of 125 all out, next highest score was 11. Their medium pacers took 6 wickets on a dusty pitch in sunny conditions. Summers took 10-2-39-2. Pace took 10-0-52-0.

What an absolute crock of faeces.

Looks like atm we have Boggles,Whenuapai(Have easy game today), Asterix look fairly assured of a place in the next round and possibly Dynamo Morpork although they are up against it against Borderliners.

Boggles should get through next round so that means we still could be waiting two or three weeks for our CW Cup!

Nine overs to go, need 81 against the runner-up in the top division with seven wickets in hand and a respectable batsmen to come. Dunno how I got this far tbh... :D

I'm away for a week and we lose twice. Two similar games, really. I batted first in both and was bundled over for ~ 200 before they got home with wickets remaining.

Friendly next week, anyone.

Easy 8-wicket win after bowling them out for 151. The two W's took 4 wickets apiece, Crawford took 2 on his club debut and Ashton top-scored with 76*. Quite happy with it as I wasn't certain I would get away with TIE'ing this week. Next week's opponent is fairly tough:

Badlands

Top Order: wonderful
Middle Order: proficient
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: superb
Spin Bowling: superb
Fielding: woeful

Edit: Ashton popped to feeble experience (in the same game as passing 2,000 runs - some support for the milestone theory).

Not sure I'll make it through next round, all depends how I fare against his top order of quality. Only a mediocre middle order and mediocre spin rating so I'm in with a chance.

Quite annoyed to be honest, I could well get knocked out by a team who're better than me without getting the opportunity of a home game.

EDIT: Well he has three players with wages >8k. Batting #2 is a wonderful, #3 also maybe a quality-quality all-rounder. Then there's a wonderful opening bowler and this all-rounder in the bowling attack.
