The server load is bad enough already, thanks...
Yup :(

It'd make sense for Allan to wait until the game is more stable before going on a drive to entice new users. Completion of the code rewrite, at the very least.

Cricinfo has their own Cricket Manager (I think) game, and I'm sure other websites all have their favourites. Some of them use the "pay to get better" method, where paying cash gives you a better chance to improve your team...in which case, Battrick isn't going to get a look-in.

Anyone up for a friendly? Got booted out of the cup last round so some practice for my fringe players would be nice before they're either sold or released :)

The lack of activity users really is starting to piss me off in SL. In my league we only have 4 real teams. We had a team get auto-promo to my league that was a bot. I've started to chat to real guys in my league to build rilvary so they stay around and most of these guys are English or Australian. There is hardly any Sri Lankan playing in SL. Hopefully i get into Div 2 next year cus you get a lot more real teams.

Okay, academic exercise for anyone bored: my opponents tomorrow, the guy who demoted in to our league. I'm debating whether to go balls-out and try and win (which in my rational moments, I think is pretty unlikely), or to suck up the NRR hit in exchange for a TIE fitness boost. Ratings:

Code:
      Mine His
 Top: mediocre respectable
 Mid: feeble mediocre
 Low: worthless abysmal
Seam: mediocre mediocre
Spin: feeble useless
Fld.: woeful woeful
The interesting thing is that his bowling's pretty one-dimensional. He's got one gun (by div V standards; 17k btr, 4.5k wage) who opens with 7 overs; one all-rounder and some competent-at-best filler. He's got a pretty long batting lineup. It's a flat pitch, so I'll never bowl him out.

I'm thinking: stick all my bowlers on very defensive to tie down his scoring. Then stick my first three batsmen on v.defensive/defensive to see off his gun and then my pinch hitters (such as they are) on attacking to try and cane the middle overs. Does this sound even vaguely plausible? I managed a competent seam rating last time I GFI'd, but that was with better fitness and morale. I've got three easy matches coming up after this. Decisions, decisions... :)

Depends on how easy your easy matches are afterwards and what your PFL is. If you'll win those three easy matches on TIE whatever then GFIing now will only mean that you'll maybe be one level of team fitness down after those three easy matches compared to what would happen if you TIE this game instead.

For instance if you're at say fresh now, you'd probably dip to low if you GFI, might be back to fair by the time your next game comes along, TIE and you'll be up to fresh again, couple more TIEs and you'll be at around invigorated or even energetic by the non-easy game comes up. TIE today and you could be at invigorated, might just about scrape up to sublime intermittently but would be probably be energetic come the non-easy game.

Hussain's their only good batsman, so once he goes they're gone. The rest are competents.

In other news, bought this guy fof 765k. I need batsmen so I just though **** it.

2xbat + fielding net for mine. Needs some fielding and wouldn't mind keeping his seconds within range of his primary. Exactly how close to proficient is he Scaly? 2 weeks on 2 nets? Meh, only bad thing about it is that he's a kiwi.

Gun (incidently he should pop to superb on Monday). Game's waiting to be taken now.

End of Over 50: 331-1, runrate=6.62

Reimann* 153 (142 balls)
Siyabonga 114 (98 balls)
Last Wicket: Ghandi c & b. Dancy 62 (FOW: 109/1)

Managed to bat first against the bots for the first time in three or so weeks. The Reimann gunned it yet again. Thats his highest score and the clubs highest score. Very well supported by Siya and Ghandi blitzed it in the early overs again.

Meyer 23 (19 balls)

I'll take that

Shame there was no centuries though. Stroud & Ludlow managed 80's, Orourke 61 & Appleyard 51. Dissappointed none of them went on.

Meyer picks up a wicket in his 1st & second over, leaving them at 2-5

actually, make that Meyer picks up 1 wicket in his first, and is on a Hattrick in his 2nd... gah, didn' get it

Glenavonjfc is 6-3 after 3

Dissapointed they got to 190 from 6-140 but meh. Everyone took wickets with the ball so I'm not unhappy. We started on fire, RR was 9 for about 6 overs. Since Jephcott went it's slowed down a bit.Hopefully Dylan gets another ton.

Canning and Tedstone in next. Bit annoyed they got 232, I really needed to restrict these guys to under 200 to be in with a good chance. Could be a close finish though (cue collapse)

Edit: Kilkenny goes for 59 off 73, Griffin and Canning in now. Massively important partnership.

Good win on TIE, expected though. Dylan made his 3rd century of the season, he's shaping up nicely as my skipper. With him and my new trainee being trained and Munroe due to pop to remarkable very soon, my batting is looking much better.

Have been milking the last few overs for 5-6 runs, but his gun spinner (wage of 6666) is back on. That said, he did cop some stick before (5 overs 0/32), so hopefully he won't do much.

I can't believe this. Playing against the league leaders, epic match. Since I think I have chance of beating him.

And...

I've got one of my batsmen bowling....:(
