Meh. Could've been amazing. Although I've not the $$ to upgrade my academy from abysmal, I will do so during the season.

My boys are out to make a point. Fantastic start, hopefully we can get somewhere around 230+. Tremendous application so far.

End of Over 15: 56-0, runrate=3.73
Doughty 3-0-13-0
Steyn* 28 (48 balls)
Antonius 24 (43 balls)

End of Over 36: 241-1, runrate=6.69
Dehame-hare 8-0-51-1
Hocking* 117 (94 balls)
Hiller 56 (55 balls)
Last Wicket: Gravey c. Locke b. Dehame-hare 64 (FOW: 116/1)

32.4 6 Boosey to Hocking
Lovely shot! Reminds me of when I was younger, I could do that with ease! Six runs!
And that's a century for Hocking! Well played indeed Sir!

Hocking coming back with form after playing no friendlies over the off season. hopefully 350 is on, but if not, i should win anyway.

International Vice-Captain
hmmm evenly poised in my match.

End of Over 40: 198-3, runrate=4.95
Ricketts 10-1-50-1
Needham* 17 (19 balls)
Allan 101 (123 balls)

Need to restrict them to about 250.

mikeW

International Vice-Captain
Just relised he has no spinners in his attack so having a Dusty pitch will certainly help me a fair bit.

EDIT:

****

45.6 2 Wilkshire to Allan
Allan chips it over mid wicket for two.
45.5 4 Wilkshire to Allan
That's Allan at his best. He put his front foot down the track and slapped the ball to the cover boundary for four runs. Wonderful shot.
45.4 1 Wilkshire to Needham
That was a close one. If Malcolm had hit the stumps with the throw, Needham would be back in the pavilion.
45.3 1 Wilkshire to Allan
Worked around to deep fine leg for the single.
45.2 4 Wilkshire to Allan
It looked like a gentle prod, but he's timed it wonderfully and the ball races away for four.
45.1 4 Wilkshire to Allan
Cut away for four.

Maughan	19 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Hocking lbw b. Locke 142 (FOW: 309/2)

Should be hard to chase, very happy with my trainees, Hocking was unlucky to get out, as this side has a ****ty bowling attack. We easily passed the 350 mark, which is what we were aiming for.

Gonna be a very hard chase, Darryl, Malcolm and Tahir need big scores.

End of Over 50: 294-6, runrate=5.88
Wilkshire 10-0-75-3
Needham* 63 (48 balls)

1st game of the new season... 1st collapse of the new season :@:@:ranting:

From 2/268 to 9/292, all wickets going to the same bowler

Code:
45.6 W Asher to Appleyard
Appleyard had trouble with that one.
45.5 W Asher to Stroud
He's hit it high, really high. Was surely going for six until Hansie just managed to claw it to his grasp. Stroud will be disappointed with that one.
Code:
47.6 W Asher to Meyer
Great reaction catch by Zubair, taking a ball flicked down leg side at full stretch.
47.5 W Asher to Ludlow
Asher has just broken the stump in half! Zubair had to get out of the way of that, as the top half of the middle stump cartwheeled across the ground. Ludlow never had any hope of getting to that
Code:
49.3 W Asher to Savage
  Oh! Comprehensively bowled!
49.2 W Asher to Groves
Asher has got Groves in front of all three and he will have to walk back to the pavilion.
49.1 W Asher to Walton
Yep, Walton has taken a small nick on that, he's out!

mikeW

International Vice-Captain
Well im screwed

End of Over 6: 16-3, runrate=2.67, reqrunrate=6.34 (294-6)
Gooch 3-0-5-2
Darryl* 11 (20 balls)
Blower 2 (9 balls)

I give up my batting always underperforms.....

End of Over 8: 28-5, runrate=3.50, reqrunrate=6.36 (294-6)
Gooch 4-0-6-2
Darryl* 22 (25 balls)
Barry 0 (2 balls)

Going surprisingly well in my cup game. Kept a far superior side down to 239. struggling with the bat though, their bowler with a 60k rating has two early wickets.

Incidentally, is there any simple way to judge the strength of the opposition aside from looking at their squad and the BT ratings? I gather it's impossible to see actual attributes.

Comprehensive victory for me today on TIE

After that :ranting: collapse, which denied Stroud 99(100) his century, and kept me to 9-292 when 300+ looked a certainty. Meyer led the attack once again with 5-23 from his initial 7 over spell. Walton picked up 2-12 with his 5 overs, with Savage, Beer & Groves each taking 1, to bowl them out for just 62

Also noted that TIE reduces my batting ratings somewhat, only got 2 Mediocres instead of my usual Comp/Med

Hmm, tried to go for an allrounder, should've just gone 12 bat/12 conc/11 stam again. Can't complain though, should be worth another few hundred.

Couldn't do enough with the bat in the end. Got strangled in the middle overs. 6/158 now with 7 overs left.

At least I got close, opposition was tough.

Easy bot bashing in my cup match today

Bowled them out for 52 with Padayachie taking 4 wickets and Allen 5. Chased it down in 7 overs for no loss.

Got Spin
Top Order: quality
Middle Order: competent
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: mediocre
Spin Bowling: respectable
Fielding: woeful

Decent ratings for TIE. My finances are suffering with the wage bill climbing to 75k.

Mine's over 160k, net loss of 110k before gate receipts. Hard to see how I'm going to make any money this season really, even with 300k gate receipts that's only 80k per fortnight.
