Anyway, with just DiVenuto left, who is going to play your decent cricket???
i`m glad you asked that mate. YOu should know,. we snared one of the finest batsmen you had at Taunton. You just know he will make a 100 against you. Seriously though what the hell we doing signing James Bryant from you? you kidding me? Shine liked him when he signed him but playing on best wicket in country and couldnt hit jack. another deadbeat we have got

you make a good point. Derby do on paper have a fairly decent batting line up but sadly never works that way but as long as DA MAN is there we will always be in with a shot

Gait was awful until last part of season although he does average 70 against you lot.
Stubbings started the season awfully but near the end he played really well. just hope he carries on next season how he finished this--deadwood

Bassano.Had a torid time in CC but brilliant in OD games. Takes his time to play himself in but when on form is destructive. the 2nd best player on the team behind Diva

Selwood. Played as an opener last season as we had no1 in form to open with Diva until he got injured and i like him.Really a number 4 or 5 batter but played well when forced to open. Like him a lot. Think he will be great player.

Khan-Good fielder. but need more than that from a batter. not impressed me at all. Should have been released ,not given another deal. more dead wood

Luke Sutton-Not only a top keeper but brilliant batsman.kept us in some games this year. Quality player

Hasan Adnan-Got him on a British passport and he played near the end of the season and he looked very cool and composed and a real good batsman. looks like we have a steal here

Dominic Hewson-Good in 1 day games and is destructive if he can stay around for a while. He is like Matt Dowman. Can look a world beater but needs to stay in. That is his problem. Like him though. good one day player and handy bowler

players that can bat.welch dumelow. Cork was good to come and hit it around a bit

so there you have it. so now you know why R3 of C&G will be ours
but you are right we rely on Diva and if he is out we normally lose.
okay we normally lose anyway but when Diva gets a score we compete.
I fancy beating you lot as long as Dravid and Ponting aint playing for you.:P

oh just to correct you and a short history from my bible :)
Australian land is just the unwanted waste land :P :P :) that drifted away from nz millions of years ago a time when women ran naked and we ate chicken raw..
Anyway the grass is clean and green on our side and barren on the other :P .. being.. :P
And then a few years ago , England decided to send some people er convicts:P over to the barren wasteland to make use of free land.. that sold for less than 5 cent lollies

Glad to help you out

The great advantage NSW have thjis and last season is the there is always experienced players around. Slater and Waugh are always there and S Waugh during the ODI's and Bevan during the tests. Clarke will again play the vast majority of this season, hopefully getting the odd call up for some international experience but realistically wont miss tooo much state cricket because of this.

If my memory serves me correctly, NSW were well out of contention come Christmas time it wasn't until Steve Waugh and Macgill came back that they started winning games. Queensland have been the best side in the last ten years. And this year again Queensland will be the team to beat. Now that more Qlders are getting recognition in the national side their depth is being tested, and the newies haven't come through just yet. But I still think Qld has the best bowling lineup and will have Maher, Love & Symonds for enough of the season to win the comp.

watch out for young Nick Kruger. could be a real good 'un for the future. i think he's playd 1 one day match and scored in the 40's.

Who should open for Queensland when ML Hayden is away with the AUstralian team - Kruger or Payne?

Either Kruger or Brendan Nash , Danny Payne has had his chance & so far he's looked ordinary :O , Kruger has all the qualities Matt Hayden did at the same age while Nash is reliable & under-rated.

Brendan Nash had one good game last season. Scored something like 180 and 68* in the first game, then I think he scored another 200-300 runs for the summer. I'm not too sure on the exact figures. As a Queensland fan I would much rather see Maher and Kruger at the top of the order for Qld. With Maher, Kruger, Love, Perren, Symonds, Law, Secombe I can see the Bulls scoring plenty of runs this season.

What about Lee Carseldine , very under-rated player in my opinion.
PS: think nothing of that LOL icon , it just makes me laugh so I put it in all my posts!

Lee Carseldine will be a very important member of the Qld squad and more importantly the batting line-up. He will have to step up when Maher & Symonds play one-dayers or Love plays tests. He is also a handy bowler, should be a regular in the ond-day comp too.

hi guys
anybody know a link where i can read a preivew of the forthcoming season and read about the different teams-strengths and weaknesses

i found the odds and i notice that Tas are half the price to win the ING than the Pura. so i assume they are a better 1 day side?

looking at the odds anything catch your catch? any mistakes by the bookies?

ING cup - SA and WA are a better chance than the bushrangers i would say, especially SA with Andy Flower. NSW have won the last 3 ING cups and have basically the same team, though a few more international call-ups due to injuries. personally i think Victoria will struggle to avoid last place in both competitons, and TAssie, WA and SA 3rd, 4th and 5th, cant really pick the order though, depends on which players fire

just a question for my fellow aussies. When Sir Waugh and Punter chuck it in, there'll be another Captian but after that Cameron White as test and ODI Captian?

yup,true...NSW were 5th if i remember correctly...And then Swaugh went berserk...He scored a couple of tonnes, a couple of invaluable 50's ... And the whole team just lifted

ALl of a sudden they were in the final for both competitions... In the ING cup, swaugh belted 88 of 55 balls (he said he had some injury which prevented him from running too much...so he dcided 2 go for the boundaries :P))

The previous year when QLD beat NSW, i'm pretty sure Swaugh didnt' play...He is the big difference between the two teams...although NSW at full strenght (this very rarely happens) is a much better team

WA is WERE also a pretty good team, befroe ppl started leaveing...

Langer,Martyn,Glichrist,HOgg, Paul Wilson, Katich*, Nicholson*, M.Hussey,Ryan Campbell, Murray GOodwin(at one stage rated no6 in the world whilst playing for zim), Beau Casson (plenty of talent), moody* and julian*

* means they no longer play for them

3 years ago, this team was by far the best (except for NSW at full strength...again,this rarely happened)

WA are a good team, in one-day anyway lol. We finished on top of the ladder last season, if I remember correctly (although I think it was NRR or something). However, like has been said, in 4-day its a different story hehe.
But we have so many players missing... Langer half the time, Martyn, Gilchrist, Hogg, Williams. But there are good ones coming up, Wates, Casson, Thistle. And still the goodies, Campbell, Angel, Goodwin, Hussey, etc.

It does seem a bit unfair if you look at the states population wise, Tassies only got 500,000 odd people, wheras NSW has like 5 mill. Doesnt seem right, but with the amount of swapping states, it seems to balance itself out anyway.

Marcus North looked very good today , he reminds me of a young Damien Martyn , looks very similar at the crease , the selectors will be looking at some of the younger batsman in the country when naming the Australia A side later this year , North was selected last year & I reckon he's a chance of playing again.
