But if he's really really good at one aspect, that should be reflected more!

I think all we're proving here is how difficult it is to model wages based on stats.

Makes Rich's idea (where managers decide for themselves how valuable the players are but have a total budget to meet) seem a lot easier!
That has only been reflected in his salary nothing else..See at K Ali whose 4d stats is almost similar but he also bats with a avg of around 25 and also bowls well in od so his salary is high.

Surely if the wage system's perfect then it will take some of the uncertainty out of the game, and if there are little flaws (which, let's face it, there will be) then there's a chance for them to be exploited.

OK as stated in the other thread the Finance system is on hold as we cannot sort out a system that people agree on...
I will continue to look at this and if you want to propose something, then email it to me and i will look at it from there...

Just before this thread gets locked up too I'd like to get some final info up for thought. I suppose it's the last word.

Batting salary - averages of four and one day divided by 2 - easy

Bowling - not so easy
Sliding scale of-
4 day
SR36=$70k, SR40=$60k, SR44=$50k, SR48=$40k,
SR50=$35k, SR55=$30k, SR60=$25k, SR65=$20k,
SR75=$15k, SR85=$10k, SR95=$5k,>95=nothing

1 day
SR20=$70k, SR25=$60k, SR30=$50k, SR35=$40k
SR40=$30k, SR45=$20k, SR55=$15k, SR65=$10k
SR75=$8k, SR85=$6k, SR90=$5k, >90=nothing

These scales are not linear. Individual one day and four day salaries are multiplied by overs per match divided by 10 and 30 respectively.

I know this is getting in after the bell but I want to have my entire proposal out for consideration before the thinking hiatus.

I have attached the wage structure for 18 of the 30 sides. The order goes name, 4d bat salary, 4d bowl salary, 4d total, 1d bat, 1d bowl, 1d total, total.

SA and Karanataka have the most expensive sides in the comp according to this scheme.

I strongly suspect that a bowler's success is determined by both the strike rate and economy rate (the average or mean of these).
