Lol at him crediting the Boxing Day knock. Yeah he really tonked that Boje (who is cool mind you, but no good).

That was some of the worst captaincy I've ever seen by Smith. Should have brought Nel on straight away.
You're just a Symonds-hater!

I`m not completely thinking giving Symonds another go is a bad idea. He`s IMO the best fielder in the world, and can obviously bat a bit, and is handy with the ball. There`s people more deserving than him at the moment for a Test Cap, but he`s pretty damn good.

EDIT: Top 5 ODI Batsmen over the last 3 years for mine as well.

What he did against Boje & Smith, two world class spinners, in the boxing day test is of course something that we have all missed and this guy hasn't, how silly of me

Symonds is a great fielder, and great at the Pajama Game, but quite frankly if he was to play against England in the ashes as a "Genuine Allrounder" he'd be given a towelling!

for a horrible second there I thought you were seriously calling Smith a world class spinner! :)

He is a fantastic and destructive batsman at Test and ODI level IMO, however I don't believe that he should taken too seriously as a bowler in test level.

I think Ponting had a big say in it. Ponting and Symonds are very good friends.

Yep, he's such a great test batsman that he averages a whole 19 after ten matches.

Would probably find a slot in are team however but I agree not good enough for Australia. Looked woefully out of his depth against South Africa though when he did play his natural (attacking) game scored runs.
Who would you drop him for in Tests then? Colly? That would probably be the logical choice if you were to pick him.

It goes without saying that he'd walk into our ODI side. But then again, that's not saying a lot

There is no way in hell that Symonds is a better test batsman than anyone in the England lineup.

I'd even take Rob Key in front of him.

Collingwood is easily a better test batsman than Symonds IMO. In any rate, I don't think you'd find Collingwood in a first choice side, even with Vaughan out.

Lol.

Symonds has proved he is not a test match cricketer as far as i'm concerned.

His boxing day test match innings was against spin and pretty bad spin at that, the rest of the series he was useless.

I can't believe the selectors choose David Hussey over Symonds, i've checked Hussey's record and it's top knotch and i've seen him play so i can't understand why he's not in the side. I think he'd be a lot more usefull than Watson even if he can't bowl.

I'll rephrase that to First Class, as in he can stull be effective in the four say game.
