Don't agree this is an embarassment for every Pakistani.

Security should have been MUCH tighter. there were flaws, e.g. no bullet-proof glass windows, not enough police ******ing players' convoy, no police cordon set up around stadium.

Not the way to treat guests who had looked to help us when every one declined.
Oh yeah we are certainly trying to share your pain and tears in this.

While i agree with everyone else that you have nothing to apologise for, Bouncer, it really was a nice touch to post that.

This is going to sound flippant, but I assure you I mean this with only compassion for most Israelis (and Palestinians), but, how would honestly say that approach has worked out for Israel?
Very well actually. Israel's approach against terrorism is quite praiseworthy, especially when you look at the way India (won't even get into Pakistan) deals with it.

Extremely different logistically are India and Israel, although I agree their stance has probably done a good job of damage limitation.

As a Pakistani my apology to all cricket fans world wide.

I am so deeply ashamed that i can not even find words to describe my sorrow and grief for SL players and their families. It will be impossible for them to ever forget about what happened today.

To CW members and other cricket fans, i hope you can look at Pak cricket for team that provided you with memories, the same ones that Viv, richi, Brian Lara, Malcolm Marshall, Ambrose provided me for WI, Sachin, Azhar, Dravid and Anil provided me for India, Martin Crowe and Chris Cairns provided me for NZ, Gooch, Michael Atherton, Gough provided me for Eng, Donald, Jonty, Kallis provided me for SA, Chappell Brothers, Lillee, Mcdermot, Mark Waugh, Warne, Mcgrath provided me of AUS and the memories that D-Silva, Sanath, Mahanama and Murli provided me for SL.

My Heart prays that you do think of Pak the same way i think of other cricketing nations, but i do have a more than shadow of doubt. And Today i wouldnt blame anyone for that.
This is lovely of you to say Bouncer, but to echo the sentiments of most others - neither you nor the Pakistan people have anything to apologise for. This was an appalling act of terrorism and cowardice and we join you in condemning them and sympathising with the victims.

We would accept your great and sincere apology, except you and your country have nothing to apologize for.

You can apologise for your fast bowlers frequent demolitions of the rest of our nations batting though, ****s. :p

What a sad day for the cricketing community. My heart goes out to the friends and families of the murdered police officers and pray we never see this kind of atrocity again

Not the time or the place really, and therefore I probably shouldn't have raised the topic, but in a couple of days we can probably chat about why I don't think it's been a great success for any country that's tried it.

Exactly how I feel really.

Wow, what a sad state of events. I hope the SL players and other people with them are safe.

It's not the fault of those who were not involved in said treatment though.

How many people have played the slightest, never mind a significant, role in the inadaquete security? A tiny number.

All other Pakistanis have nothing to feel ashamed about and nothing to apologise for. They are the ones who are going to suffer most for it - it's they who most deserve an apology from those who truly are responsible.

Cant fix terrorism with security. That's what 1000s of years of efforts to stop insurgencies have taught us. Once you have people with the will and means to be terrorists, no amount of security guards or precautions will ever be foolproof. Only answer is to get the terrorists to lay down their weapons and wipe out those who won't.
Exactly .The only way to stop terrorism is to find the source of funding and cut that line .Yes extremely difficult task .But thats the only solution .

That was an extremely prevalent view in many security circles. A state of denial, in my view.

Possibly... though it's almost unprecedented, which often makes people think it will never happen. Is it correct to say this is the first direct attack on a high-profile sports team since Munich in the 70's? And in that case it was Israeli-Palestinian... whereas in this case Sri Lanka are, as has been said in the press, the 'Switzerland of asian cricket'. I guess I could, at a stretch, have imagined this happening to the Indian/English/Australian teams, but not to Sri Lanka.
