Amazing Comebacks

Adding to those already mentioned here -
- India vs Zimbabwe World Cup 1983, Kapil Dev 175*
- India vs Australia Titan Cup 1998 (The one where Srinath and Kumble took us home)
- Viv Richard's 189* vs England
- India vs South Africa Champions Trophy 2002, SA were coasting at 194-1 chasing 250 odd and Zaheer Khan won us the match.

Headingley 81 is the mother of ALL comebacks, not only the size of the comeback (think it was about 100 just to make Australia to bat again around tea on the fourth day with 3 wickets to go) but the speed of the comeback (game over in the afternoon session of the 5th).

Quite amazing stuff

Does anyone remember Gilchrist's knock in Mumbai test after Australia were struggling at 99/5. That is one of the best counter attacks I have seen in recent times. Amazing come back as well.

Agreed - but doesn't rival these 2...

1) Headingly, 1981
2) Aus v WI, WC1996, beat them from WI at one point needing only 40 with 8 in hand

Virender Sehwag....not Zaheer Khan.
+ Yuvraj Singh's excellent catch to get rid of Jonty. One of the best close-in catches EVER.

VVS Laxman's 281 takes it for me. Then comes the Botham and Willis show at Headingly.
Also Dravid's 155 in the same test.

People remember Laxmans 281, but often forget Dravids innings , which wa equally important :)

New Zealand v South Africa at the Gabba in 2001!! I watched the whoel thing live. After about 30 odd overs New Zealand needed 8 an over chasing 241 with only 6 wickets in hand..... New Zealand were 5-98 when Cairns was at the crease, teh rest is history. His first 50 odd was so quick and that's what brought back teh run-rate. He then cruised it for his century, probably the most memorable 100 i've ever seen!

I'd say that Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd test at Multan was a really good comeback from Pakistan, ok they shouldn't have been in that position against Bangladesh in the first place but the way that Inzamam recaptured his form at the perfect moment was excellent to watch.

there isnt a team against whom he hasnt done that to.....undoubtedly the best ODI player i have ever seen.
Yes, he has a very sound game. He doesn't play silly shots and turns the strike over every ball.

Yes he played very well, although I would have liked to see Bangledesh rack up a win.
