Love Allan Border. He is the epitome of bravery at no.5.

But Dravid had India's flag flying high on the SENAW map like never before.

Boss he sucked in SA and was merely ok in Aus(bad apart from one tour, and he batted mostly in the era of flat Aussie pitches).
We won two tests in Australia from around 1980 to 2018 and Dravid was crucial to both. Match winner, didn't do useless runs. Also, who else can say they were instrumental the greatest comeback win in test history vs the greatest team ever where he batted a day and a half and then kept wickets the next day? Often had to open the batting on said tours to SA, Aus, England because none of the other wimps stepped up. Told Sachin to get on with it if he wanted to get his precious double hundred and when he didn't, he ****ing declared his ass. What a chad.

Dravid and Border were real men. But Dravid is less racist (so far according to publicly available information).

To be really fair you should also give a third option that suggests that both are equal, will save a lot of debating for people who are sitting on the fence.

The comeback you are taking about was in a match in India. And Dravid had genuine issues vs bounce in Aus and SA. And for the Sachin thing, Sachin was scoring at a decent rate and not slowing down towards his double. And Dravid didn’t do well at 3 or anyone position in SA outside the 1996 tour.

It is rather denigrating to point out holes in Dravid's resume. Border has holes too. At this level, it is just about the overall impact the player left on you having watched them both. If you never watched Border, you have no idea and stats will never give you an idea - you are unqualified to judge.

No need to defend Dravid on any count. He is a legend and stat dissections are beneath him.
