Wait did we really vote Sehwag to bat #3?
He was the last batsman to be selected at no. 3. Before him, all the cakes were selected around him - Haynes, Ranatunga, Rohit (not a rapid starter), Yousuf. Why not an icing like Sehwag in the middle of that batting order rather than another cake? He was great against spin too - so I don't see why he'd be any less successful at number 3 in the long run.
