All-Time West Indies XIs - A re-run

Is Sobers rated worse than Headley as a batter here?
I would imagine not, but the question leaves it open to believe that there will be a separate vote for the all rounder spot, not sure if there will be another bite to get Headley in?

I'm thinking of shoehorning Worrell in as opener and Walcott as keeper. It's kind of a cheat on both fronts but I think it makes the best team and in a real life situation choosing between this set of players would likely happen. Worrell never really had a set batting position and he did open six times for an average of 49, and Walcott was reportedly quite a good keeper before back injuries made him give it up.
I'm planning on doing the same.

Worrell actually opened and performed pretty well, and he's the natural captain for the team.

Plus with a spinner the keeper has to be Walcott.

Sometimes I do think we need to be a little more flexible re: batting positions and consider what would really happen - see the English side.
I agree, I don't have an issue with Hutton at 3 because he's intelligible, he just isn't an ideal no. 3.

Him and Sutcliffe together would make your eyes hurt.

Luffy is usually pretty clever and sensible with things like this, I reckon he'll just have us vote first for ten players and then ask us vote for an eleventh one to "fill the final spot" in the same round we vote for the captain. We'll then presumably vote for Headley then to take that spot.

Guessing the next round will be a fourth bowler and a keeper.

Maybe your eyes need some touching up if it hurts.

As he's asked for 4 players in each of first 2 rounds, why wouldn't he just ask for final 3 in next round?

If he's gonna have us vote in an extra round to pick the captain anyway he might as well leave that last player for the last round in case people want whoever they vote for keeper/fifth bowler to take it if they miss out. I imagine some people might want to vote for Walcott again if he doesn't get the keeper spot for example.

I mean, I am always open for "if else". If someone wants to, they can definitely vote: "Clyde Walcott as WK, Chanderpaul as batsman. If Walcott doesn't makes it as keeper then him as batsman". That's the general trajectory I have followed so far.

Now that you've mentioned him as clever and sensible and suggested what he has to do to be that, he doesn't have a choice.
