fixedPollok's the most underrated ODI bowler there is.
Again...What if he is unable to sustain his form like those guys have for most part of their career? Would you still consider him for an all time best team simply because he is a left-arm?
Spreadsheets or this means nothingfixed
Pollok's the most over-rated ODI bowler there is.
Shaun Pollock's ODI career in numbers (2008)
A rare blue chip
......Pollock currently has 3509 runs and 392 wickets from 302 ODIs, making him only the second player after Wasim Akram to complete the double of 3500 runs and 350 wickets in the limited-over version. He's also in an exclusive club of four players with over 2500 runs and 250 wickets in ODIs.
.....One aspect of Pollock's bowling that has stood out has been his unnerving accuracy. He has consistently managed to curb the runs over his career, despite losing a few yards of pace. With an astounding economy-rate of 3.67, Pollock is one of the most miserly bowlers among the leading wicket-takers in ODIs. That economy-rate is even more remarkable when you consider that Pollock played mostly in an era when bat dominated ball, with bowlers finding it difficult to concede less than five an over.

Yea after Wasim.Wasim, surely
Yeah, Wasim probably the greatest ODI bowler ever for mine as well.Yea after Wasim.
I would say top 3. I rate Murali and McGrath ahead of him.Yeah, Wasim probably the greatest ODI bowler ever for mine as well.
fair enough. That's not an invalid opinion. A case can easily be made for both of them over wasim.I would say top 3. I rate Murali and McGrath ahead of him.
looks like Wisden disagrees with you, perhaps they aren't just restricted to spread sheetsGarners the best of all time kids.
My opinion on Garner being the best of all time has little to do with spreadsheets.looks like Wisden disagrees with you, perhaps they aren't just restricted to spread sheets

Tbf Collingwood would be 2nd batsman pencilled into the list after Tresco. Arguably England's greatest ever ODI player given his all-round capabilities. Unlike most Englishmen to play ODIs, he actually got the format.Open to discussion on this one, no idea how to balance it correctly. England are pretty mediocre at ODI. Collingwood included because I think he plays a role that is needed. Maybe Thorpe over Fairbrother?

It is highly unlikely that anyone would just use a 'spread sheet' or just use their 'unguided opinion'. I think it fair to say that we all blend the two.looks like Wisden disagrees with you, perhaps they aren't just restricted to spread sheets
