Its only T20 though, whats the worst that can happen honestlyReally surprised with Broad's appointment.I think it will end in shambles. He doesn't come across as someone who can inspire a team IMO.

afridi is a very good t20 player. and also a very good odi bowler.Who'd have though Afridi, would make a decent captain.
Personally, I think, the added responsibility, will bring maturity to his game. It's only in T20, so it's hardly test cricket, it's a good place, to see if he's up to it.
Never said he wasn't. but you wouldn't have put him down as a future captain, a year ago with his on field antics. Broad is also a very good bowler in T20 and Odi's and is certain of his place.afridi is a very good t20 player. and also a very good odi bowler.
personally dont think t20 can be a testing ground for future test caps, (lol at broad captaining eng in whites, but assuming he'll do well). we saw in case of clarke that.
That's not because he was a **** captain though. He showed that he was a very good T20 captain. Problem was he was a **** T20 player. Not the case with Broad.afridi is a very good t20 player. and also a very good odi bowler.

Your joking aren't you, I've seen Afridi, have a right go at his fielders and bowlers when things are going wrong.I dont think that the comparisons with Afridi are fair because Afridi seems like a bloke who is well-liked by his team mates and rarely displayed the kind of fits and tantrums against his own team mates in the manner which Broad does. To me, in a pressure situation, I know that Afridi would be more likely to keep his cool than Broad, and I think as a player you always turn to your captain to show the kind of composure that reassures you to perform at the best of your ability. A captain that is routinely caught in disputes with the opposing batsmen sets a poor example for the rest of the team.
I'm also a little bit biased against Broad because I believe that the era of fast bowlers being captains has well passed not only because I think that the majority of them are overly aggressive and have way too much self-belief (I wouldn't be surprised if Broad over-bowled himself even when he was getting caned around the park). Mostly however, I think that fast bowlers are more injury prone than any other type of player and hence I would lean against having them as captain.
Given the kind of stamp of approval that Broad has been given by Vaughan, Im not completely against him having a shot at the captaincy, but I think it is quite obvious that I would have gone in another direction.

What a **** post.broad a good t20 player? only mem of hims is getting carted for six sixes by yuvi
Broad is one of our best T20 players (and ODI too). That's why he was one of the few that got IPL contracts this year.broad a good t20 player? only mem of hims is getting carted for six sixes by yuvi
He's obviously not the only one that thinks this.ooh... ok geriant whatever u think...
firstly I dont believe him getting an ipl contract shud be and end of his performance appraisal.Broad is one of our best T20 players (and ODI too). That's why he was one of the few that got IPL contracts this year.
I guess the weird thing in one way is that they didn't give Broad the ODI gig too.
So by your own admission, you don't follow T20, therefore how can you speak and the only thing you can bring up against Broad is something that happened over 4 years ago, when he was 19. Great form mate.firstly I dont believe him getting an ipl contract shud be and end of his performance appraisal.
I hardly follow twenty twenty int, I think the sample size is too small and dispersed across time to really have a call.. for me the only memory of broad is getting hit for all those sixers and a facepalm losing to holland in 09. since then lost interest in int t20.
his eco rate isnt gumho either and personally he's come across as a haha to borrow a usage, petulant petal. he is overrated imho.
and geraint, dont go hyper like this.
So basically, you just happen to only remember two games he got embarassed in? Convenient. And btw, great backpedalling, you've gone from laughing at his T20 credentials to claiming to have lost interest in the format.firstly I dont believe him getting an ipl contract shud be and end of his performance appraisal.

why being a teenager shud insulate his record or what?So by your own admission, you don't follow T20, therefore how can you speak and the only thing you can bring up against Broad is something that happened over 4 years ago, when he was 19. Great form mate.
If you don't know, I think we'll leave it there.why being a teenager shud insulate his record or what?
its not as if he has suddenly metamorphised into world's best bowler or anything.....
