Just watched Auckland basically keep their season alive with a victory in woeful conditions against Taranaki - easily the most difficult conditions in a match this season, if not the last couple of years. Bit of a contrast in style to the high scoring wins for Hawkes Bay and Canterbury this week, who demolished Counties and Manawatu respectively.

Voltman wins another week though its BoyBrumby's performance that stands out. His seven point round allows me and Vimes to close the gap and enables Voltman to open up a six point lead at the top. Credit to Ripper for picking East Coast's win over Thames Valley - 3% on Virtual Rugby managed that feat.

Not much change last week, Voltman's lead is beginning to look unassailable with Brumby, Vimes and myself fighting for second spot.

And Southland take the Shield - so much for my optimistic approach in visualising Hawkes Bay and Auckland in the top four! Really solid defence from the Stags but overall a disappointing effort from an All Black-less Canterbury side.
