Tbh, Monty was more threatening than Swann in the 2012 series.

And Murali is the greatest spinner of all time. The actual GOAT.
Dwta.

The GOAT wouldn't be so dire in two of the top 8 countries. He was the best off spinner though.

I do not see any spinner better than him in the history of cricket. GOAT simply means Greatest Of All Time, not someone who has done well everywhere or some other hypothetical. If he is better than every other spinner, he is the GOAT. End of.

Warne and O'Reilly both have claim to being better. I'm not saying they are, but it's certainly not indisputable. Certainly there's more debate than in the batting, pace bowling and keeping departments.

Warne v Murali, #8429341842

I'd go back to see who started it but I'm sure I could guess

i saw this thread in the new posts pane on the side right under the obituary column thread and thought he ****ing died
Came in to say this. Wouldn't be a bad idea to maybe change the thread title.

Murali was indeed one of the nicest guys.Unlike Warne he never THREW a tantrum.
Nah, Murali never MASKED when he had one.
most posters have the comprehension skills of a four year old and wouldn't have found these incredibly esoteric jokes if you didn't bold them, thanks fellas.

a shame that great humour must be explained for such high iq gents as yourselves to mingle with the common man

TBF, the Murali-Warne rivalry was just as bad. Lara-Sachin showed the world how its done when it comes to these rivalries. :p

CW is certainly the exception, I see many different candidates and debates elsewhere on the greatest pace bowler, and definitely no consensus. Keeping is another conversation due to the evolution of the position.
