Adam Zampa's fielding

How can a man who's played nearly 150 games for his nation be so bad in the field. There are fielding coaches at a domestic and international level who get payed a good salary to improve fielding standards and after 10+ years the best they've gotten from zampa is Club cricketer fielding. I don't get how that can happen?

It's those decaf Flat Whites that he has pre-game. They have a habit of making one drowsy and not quite with it

Good bowler though

It's a very good question. It can only be either laziness or terrible coordination/athleticism. Both of which seem to afflict spin bowlers at a disproportionately high rate

Whatever it takes!!!
Tbf on Chahal, either he's improved out of sight in recent times, or he just had an abnormally good day out in the field in the last T20 game... thought he fielded very well.
He always tries and is pretty fast across the turf. But in terms of fielding skills that matter - like anticipation, strength and accuracy of throws, ability to catch etc. he is way below par. Like way way below par. There is a reason when we play KulCha, Bumrah and Bhuvi we were basically playing with 4 rabbits with the bat and in the field as far as LO cricket goes.

For test matches, Bhuvi and Kuldeep are passable tailend bats.

Bhuvi's bordering on genuine bowling all-rounder/test #8 territory isn't he? Averages 22 in test with a few 50's and has fc hundreds and a fc+test average of 27.

Yeah, he is a decent #8 at his best but he has not been at his best for a few years now, so I said a passable tailend bat. Both him and Kuldeep are good #9s who can be passable #8s in tests. But their fielding is usually shockingly shoddy.

think he was our third best test batsman on the last tour of South Africa when de Villiers was still active
