It's just how much value due to think keeping provides. It's enough for me to make Gilchrist an ATG, not enough to get close to Lara though.

Gilchrist is selected because he's an elite keeper who happens to be a near 50 averaging batsman, just because his batting is well regarded, does not mean you can just ignore his primary skill IE excellent wicket keeping, that's stupid.

I find it hard to compare cricketers across discipline. If forced to choose the Greatest Test Cricketers, I think this would be my top 12. Not necessarily the best but the greatest I think. idk
