having bond out is a big loss for NZ. australia have suffered similar things throughout the years, however they fought through it. i think it will be harder for NZ.

So? Doesnt make him a world class bowler.

The only time I have seen Zaheer bowl really well was in New Zealand, and those pitches were assisting seam bowlers, so I wouldnt read to much in to it.
Zaheer is a very good bowler - best seamer they have, of course he's going to bowl well in helpful conditions!

Oh and incase you forgot, did you bother checking the New Zealand-India Test series when India toured, I can assure you, the Indians were troubled by the NZ bowlers, so much Vettori wasnt nedded.
It was extremely helpful to the seamers (as you yourself just said!), so I wonder why Vettori wasn't needed?

The NZ seamers will not trouble India in India anywhere near as much!

speaking of Salvi, theres also another young paceman waiting in the wings by the name of Balaji.

New Zealand to me are a decent enough side to cope and trouble anybody, anywhere because they dont rely too much on only 1or two players well, that was the case anyway until a couple of years ago...

We've heard of this bloke on here before.

Talked up something rotten then performed even worse...

No, Balaji's debut wasnt pretty at all.

Although Salvi looks like a very cool head, and has a really smooth action.

Reminds me of one Jamie Troughton.....
Apart from the fact that Troughton wasn't ridiculously overhyped and was expected to be a Test player rather than the ODI team owing to his relative success in the 2 forms of the game.

yea from what ive seen of Salvi he does look good, good bowling action and looks like he modeled himself on McGrath, although nowhere close to Mcgrath in comparison..

Like ppl have said before , getting wickets in domestic competitions dont mean much, it does matter, but the international areana is a whole diffferent thing...

And you can only call him good once he peforms consistently at different pitches at the top most level..

But when your a pace bowler, getting those type of wickets on Indian Dustbowls where over 50 batsman average over 45 in domestic cricket, its pretty damn good

well atleast salvi should keep out one infamous "all-rounder" for a while. and possibly end his career international cricket. fortunately for India they have finally been able to replace the dreaded one. *shudder* i agree with Lord on this issue :)

SO there would be every sense in producing green tops and the like. If only the BCCI did something for once.
