What a game, that was unbeleivable. I'm so glad the West Coast Eagles pulled through, Ben Cousins, Daniel Kerr and Chris Judd are absolutely stars. Gotta love it.

Amazing game. My thoughts:

First half was decent by West Coast, nothing brilliant, Sydney had an absolute mare of a first half in general, Lewis Roberts-Thompson, oh dear.

Second half was when the proper game began, both teams played pretty well, especially in that third term, given another 5 mins on the match the Swans would've got home IMO.

Cox was absolutely amazing, best on ground for mine, and with Hall, he just got lost when the Eagles put that loose man in front of him. It's not like Glass play overly well on him, it's just the way it worked out.

Next year the contenders for mine will be: Eagles, Bulldogs, Crows, Fremantle, Swans and maybe St Kilda (depending on the coach).

Yeah, I also think Brisbane will cause a few upsets with Jonathon Brown. Don't consider them contenders but I think they'll have games where they're red hot.

Yeah, their midfield is still gun too - Black, Power, Sherman, Lappin, Voss etc.

Brisbane will have a weak backline, according to Akermanis Voss won't play and Lappin is getting on. Will be around the 8-10 range for mine.

I'll back them in for 8th. Charman is a big in for them also.

Contenders: West Coast, Sydney, Fremantle, Bulldogs and Melbourne.

Sliders: Collingwood, Adelaide and Geelong.

Improvers (from outside the 8): Brisbane, Port Adelaide and Hawthorn.

Well done Eagles - credit to the Swans for getting so close after so many errors and missed chances early on.

First game I've seen (and I miss a lot being in NSW and not having Foxtel) where Kerr actually played like the star everyone says he is.

Chris Judd is simply the best football player I've seen since... I don't remember - probably Buckley five years ago. Damn I wish we could somehow lure him to Collingwood - hmm might have to send a snatch squad and some mind-programmers

Cox was unlucky not to get the Norm Smith, although most of the Eagles played very good games in the end.

Feel bad for Sydney, and particularly Hall. A couple of those missed shots of his will have him waking in a sweat screaming I think. Reminiscent of Carey vs. the Crows for me.

Welldone Eagles, a fantastic game watched it from the ground.. an excellent atmosphere, top game indeed, but dissapointed to see the swans lose :(

Anyway i agree to most of the people's views, but one thing i wont agree that Embley deserved to be the Norm Smith medalist.. He had a good game, but didn't deserve it..

Anyway well done Eagles, and stop lashing out at me :p

********, Embley had ****loads of posessions and every time it got to the Swans half forward line Embley was there running the ball. Easily best on ground.

Kerr didn't do enough early, but he pretty much won them the game in that last quarter, he kept his head, ran with it and didn't do anything stupid.

Embley was consistent all day and deserved it, IMO.

You guys are all ****ing idiots (bar Borcich). Cox was good, but Embley ****ing killed him, did the same but missed all his runs into the misfiled. Kerr was great early and Cox was great in the third, but no one was consistently great all the way through. Biased ****s.

Not much more I can really say but to add to the Norm Smith debate. I thought Embley was excellent and deserved the medal. He was everywhere and was very damaging.
