Haha I noticed that, they just won a premiership ffs, cant expect the players to be 1) nice to little kids and 2) polite during annoying interviews where the reporters are asking the most idiotic of questions.

Chick was the biggest knob on the ceremony, grabbed the medal out of the kids hands, put it around his neck by himself, then put his arms in the air without acknowledging the kid at all.

Why oh why do the AFL even have kids handing out the medals? Sure it'll be good for them to look back, but I'm sure the players would love to get them off an all-time great.

Agree with you there - its a nice thought, "show the sport is kid friendly" etc, but its probably not the best time to expect the players to be focused on being good role models.

On the other hand, I don't think they should be sanctioned, but watching it live, each time a player ignored the little kid giving them the medal, I sat there and said "You **** - you can't even be nice for 0.5 of a second to some kid who's probably just like you were 15 years ago". I think things like that show whether you have any class or not. What was it, 14 out of 22 didn't find it too much bother. Guys like Judd showed they, apart from their football talent, have class. Guys like Chick, Wirrpunda and Cousins, showed a bit of a lack of class.

As I said, its not a hanging offence or anything.

Hahaha most hypocritical closure, seriously. I didn't like the thread tbh, we can keep the stuff in here, but how he can close that thread and keep the other soccer duplicates open is stupid.

I know, happened to a few people on the radio.

Apparently when Barry took the mark, one guy went "OMG He's done it again!", then realised.

Absolutely hilarious.

And yeah Chick was the worst one with the medal presentation. Wirrpanda felt bad about it and offered a signed jumper and going to their place for dinner etc., but Chick literally moved the kids' hand out of the way.

There was a story on the news about the criticism's being dealt out towards the West Coast Eagles, pretty ridiculous if you ask me. They had just won a premiership in a game that was really tight, right down to the end. Expect them to be excited and forget about that sort of thing. They are professional athletes and probably should've done better but its definately understandable. That Wirrpanda chap said he was sorry for the kid and thought it was quite rude of him and offered the kid a signed jersey or to invite his family over. Chick was pretty bad though, pretty poor display of professionalism and maturity on his behalf.

Pretty sad stuff, and almost heartless (no pun intended) by the Crows not to let a champion like Hart go out on his own terms. It's quite shocking, barring injury, I thought his form was pretty good throughout the year.

It will come back to bite the crows. If they get a few key more injuries or people don't recover before next season, the Crows will be a shadow of their former selves and won't mak the finals.

Thoughts, Fuller?

I'm pretty stunned by that actually. Hart was very, very good in the first half of the season, probably the best he's been for a few years. He's been injured a lot in the last 3 years or so, but I would have thought they'd keep him on.

Amazing that he only played 311 games too. At 250 he'd never had a long term injury in his career, and was around 30.

Bad decision IMO, and is almost as heartless as Richmond letting go of Kellaway in the fashion they did.

Both Hart and Kellaway had very good years, and would have played on IMO if they both didn't get injuries throughout the year. Their form for the first 8-10 rounds were great, particularly Ben Hart who was gunning my Dream Team and was going to be the best trade pick-up of the season for me. He and Johncock would kick it to each other almost as much as the Bowdens.
