In other news, Leppitsch has retired. He was a dead set gun, up forward early in his career, and then down back for the Lions. He almost perfected the art of zoning off your man as a defender.

I saw the Caracella hit live before walking away from the tv, so I didn't see the replays, and didn't think much of it at the time. He has a reputation for being soft and the J.Brown one looked a lot worse in real time and he got up and played on.

Along with the Hunter into the fence at Skilled it makes you sit back and think that the players really are risking their lives, or quality there of, by taking the field every week.

Nice work by Demetriou at a press conference describing today's game being played at break neck speed when quizzed about the incident

The odd thing about the Hunter and Caracella incident was on 3AW on Saturday morning Rex Hunt and Mike Shehand and others were talking about Kozi's injury, and ended up mentioning how amazing it is that considering how rough and hard Aussie Rules football is, we haven't seen many (if any?) players suffer spinal injuries and become paraplegics or quadriplegics.

Later that night the Caracella incident occurs.

There's plenty softer then Caracella. The two other times he has got stretchered off haven't exactly been minor hits. He isn't built to go in hard, so he just floats around the ground working to his strengths.

Speaking about soft - did anyone see the Ablett hit on Wirrpunda, a legitimate bump. This is what the match review panel came up with.

Ablett's incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points), in play (no points) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, which relates to a Level One offence, drawing 75 demerit points and a reprimand. He has no applicable good or bad record.

Oh no body contact *shock horror* we can't have that. Anyone for netball? What a disgrace. He better win the appeal or next time he thinks about bumping someone he will get two weeks. Idiots.

I can't believe they even paid a free kick against Ablett. Now, if he ends up getting an extra week in the future because of the points he garners from this... *shakes fist*

Does anyone know what happened regarding the report of Brendan Goddard for striking James McDonald?

I can't find if it was thrown out or he accepted some punishment or something else.

He should be reprimanded at least for it.

Ablett got off his reprimand. :)

And that ******* Headland got off his attempted strike too, but I wish the tribunal just went "You blew kisses into the crowd and you're ugly... so you can stay suspended whether you hit him or not.".
