Agree with Wayne Carey and Leigh Matthews that Jon Brown needs to exercise a little bit of caution in situations such as last Sunday. There's nothing not tough about having a little look before you go into a situation like that. Particularly when your team is so reliant on you.

He really does miss far too much footy this guy. You watch, come the preseason, there'll be some sort of hip or groin problem which will see him put on a limited program. Then he'll miss a string of games next year. As great as he has been, he really joins Daniel Kerr as incredibly highly paid white elephants.

How do you know what players are being paid? A lot of players - especially older ones with injury histories - have incentives in their contracts that reward them for the amount of games they play. Equally, when they miss large chunks of the season they miss out on a large chunk of dough as well.

I don't know the contract situation of either of those players but to suggest that they are highly paid white elephants is rubbish. Especially so when you consider how much they contribute to the team when they are on the field.
