A former Essendon player has told Channel 9 that the club knew it was pushing the boundaries with its program.

"From what they were saying, it was right on the borderline of what they were going to give us," he said.

"Everyone signed it, it was a personal choice as to whether they took it. " ... it does seem very odd the type of stuff we were taking. "They admitted to us it was right on the edge of the levels you could be taking."
i think the main part of the AFL investigation will focus on whether players felt pressured to take this 'borderline' stuff. that is, sport scientists around the league may be the ones they really target, as opposed to just Essendon

Wait, Essendon cheated and still had the worst fitness program of all time, and still missed the 8?

 Illegal supplements

1. Cheat
2. Have players physically break down
3. Play hackish football
4. Miss finals.

James Hird needs to chat to Lance Armstrong to learn how to cheat properly.

Let me be the first to congratulate Trent Cotchin on his Brownlow Medal now that the cheat will no doubt be stripped of his Brownlow

got told this late last year by someone who is very good mates with a former Essendon player delisted last year, but decided not to post it at the time.

The story I heard was at the start of 2012 they had a guy (Dank) that plied them all to the eyeballs with (legal) drugs and supplements. EFC gave the players the choice as to whether or not to participate. Only players to opt out were Watson, Fletch and one other. Every other player participated.

Resulted in players working so hard that they were frequently passing out in the gym etc, and was a key contributor to the soft tissue injuries. Dank was quietly let go at the end of last year.
suck it trent!

This is the greatest day ever.

All my ****ing Essendon friends have gone silent. Before the conference when I trolled them they were biting hard and defending their club, but the minute the PEDs issue came out, they have run into their caves.

****'s sake if you're going to cheat at least make finals.

Club in crisis. Code in crisis. Brand ruined. Sheedy to challenge Hird.

Worth noting that the only AFL to ever be found guilty of using performance enhancing drugs was a Richmond player.

the good news for benchy is that this guy who handed out the stuff worked at geelong (and manly and now the demons) so the 09 and 11 flags can rightfully be returned to the hawks
