I'll pick Hawthorn, and in the remainder I'll take the opposite of Clapo's picks. A risky strategy, but the only way I can avoid the spoon.

Hopefully I can stage a shock, totally unexpected miracle escape. Much like how Norths have avoided the wooden spoon this season.

Subject to change depending on Tozz's tips.

Expecting Richmond to win this weekend because they seem to take some pride in beating teams when there's nothing on the line whereas North Melbourne are looking to next year, can't imagine they would have trained that hard this week.

Changing my tip to St. Kilda.

They've got Shaw, Maxwell and Davis missing from the backline but from what I've seen the Cats mids have been harder to the ball

Malthouse said weeks ago that he thought this match was pretty much a waste of time and he wasn't going to coach it like he would come finals. That would have obviously seeped into the players' mindset as well.

That being said, you don't expect a 100 point belting. Losing by that margin to your main rival for the premiership isn't healthy no matter how much you don't give a **** about winning.

Announcement for any Kiwi AFL fans out there:

Great news AFL footy on free to air TV in NZ!!! Stratos TV Ch89 and Triangle TV who have been bringing us the Local Footy Show at 3.30pm every saturday for the last 6 weeks are now also able show a full game of AFL at 7pm starting Sunday 4 September and Triangle TV at 8.30pm which is the first round of finals. For full details see attached docs. A very big thank you to Stratos and the other parties concerned and especially to Will McKenzie whose enthusiasm and canny negotiating skills over the last couple of months has brokered this great deal for AFL fans in NZ-Thanks Will and thanks to all those who helped to make it happen a wonderful result and hopefully sets things up for improved TV coverage for 2012.

You can take the result (W/L) of last night with a grain of salt, but a hammering of that proportion has to dent your confidence leading into finals, and in reverse - would boost Geelong's confidence no end.

Geelong/Hawthorn next week will be such a ball tearer. Getting a semi just thinking about it.

May as well have copied and pasted my post eh?

Also will be at Geelong vs. Hawthorn, as I always am. Best neutral match to go to hands down.
