Also in that article, Tarrant now threatening to retire if he doesn't come to us - looks like Freo might not get fair value for him at this rate.

Re: Krakouer, I just prefer that given the infrastructure and development programs we have for kids coming in, that we get a kid with pick 25.

But you're in a premiership window, why not make hay while the sun shines?

I reckon he'll do well.

Of course, all of my comments have the unwritten preface that I know infinitely less about building a successful list than the guys in the Pies footy department who have just delivered a flag, so I can't really complain too much about something they reckon is a good deal. If it helped us get Josh Fraser to the GC, and that was what he wanted, then that's a good side effect as well - never good if a long term player who's not in your 22 wants a move and you don't make it happen.

EDIT: Do love how the media have been pumping it up as a fairytale return for Krakouer, and now that he's coming to the Pies the Hun chucks "jail-bird" into the headline...

Tambling now a Crow.

I'll be keen how Spida jnr. plays for us. Hopefully he'll be a gun. We have a reputation regarding recycled players.
I'm still not actually sure where he'd play. He's not big enough to be a backup ruckman and probably not good enough to be a wingman yet. I reckon he'll come good, but just interested to see where.

nfi who Vezspremi is. Seems to be similar in that he's an underachieving high draft pick. Good move for both players, though, because neither was getting a game.

I think he's Jared Brennan/Nick Davis-esque. Oozes talent. Whether he'll apply himself is another thing.

And prefaced by not having seen him play this year either.
I'll admit, that's true. Also, I suppose with Medhurst, Lockyer, and O'Bree retiring, and Davis possibly moving on, quite a bit of our depth has gone, so even if he's a fringe player for our 21 (going to take a while to get used to that), it's a useful addition. You guys are talking me around a bit...

I'm actually really surprised at the perspective the media have taken on Krakouer. Good on him for turning his life around, but I'd have expected the media to jump all over what he went to jail for which IIRC involved him beating a guy up with a stick with his brother (not actually 100% on that, but the best details I can find in news reports are very sketchy).

Yeah, good on him for getting out of gaol and giving it another go, but a disgustingly dog act. Certainly wouldn't cross the road to help the bloke out. Hope he takes this second chance.

Found these from the time:
Krakouer guilty of serious assault

Andrew Krakouer jailed for 16 months | The Australian

No mention of a stick, but yeah, three guys on one ain't particularly nice.
