Meh, don't agree with the Grand Final day medallion rule anyway. Should be like other sports where if you play a certain amount of games during the year, you qualify if your team goes on to win it.

Mainly for gun players who got their team into the GF, or on top of the ladder, but then went down with injury. Without them the team wouldn't be in the GF perhaps, so they should get a medal.

The argument for Davis getting one was "the 2nd GF couldn't have happened without the first" (to quote Gerard Wheateley), but surely that counts for players who go down in a prelim. Imagine if Hayes (who saved the Saints many times during the season) went down in a prelim. If the Saints somehow won, for mine he's taken he deserves a medal.

Obviously not many would agree with this as its not the AFL culture, but still think it's a better method. Leon Davis not the best example of why this should occur, as he is a unique example of someone so **** in GFs... but Presti would be a good example. McEvoy another (if Saints had won last week).
Yeah, either everyone gets one or no-one does. This ruling makes no sense.

Alright, will move conversation on. With the replay, trade week is upon us immediately. What do people want their team to do this week?

Very little. Have a real worry Rocket will try to prop us up to have one last dash next year and it'll backfire horribly. Expect us to lose at least two of Everitt, Hill and Stack - would rather keep the first two.

Who knows? He's got less trade value than he did last year, but I'd prefer to hang onto him. I suspect he might be involved in a trade for Walker, but I'm not sure we could get much for him.

Jack Anthony and a sweetener? You have him as a second marking option next to Bazza and your forward line is looking better. As undoubtedly awesome as the big bad Leroy has been this year, a another back-up ruckman to give Jolly a chop out would be good for us. Has he played forward much?

He's not really a backup ruckman. He's played mainly defence and found it hard to break in. I'm guessing he's one of those guys who has got on Eade's bad side and from all accounts it is pretty hard to come back.

Anthony isn't really the type of player we need. We've got enough of the mid-size marking types to sink a battleship. I'm pretty sure Djekkeura (gotta find out how to spell that) is an attempt to fill a hole that was exposed time and time again this year - as soon as the ball went to ground inside fifty, we were mince meat. I'm not too familiar with him, though, but anything that can tackle is an improvement on what we've had.

Have I got a deal for you!

Collingwood are a pretty young team. But people talk loosely about dynasties as though premierships are so easy to win. On that score, Geelong were a great team but didn't even manage back-to-back premierships. It really is the case that, even if you have the best players, all the stars need to align in order to win even just one flag.

Yeah, talk of a dynasty definitely premature. So much has to go right to challenge for a flag, let alone win. We'll be very confident going into next year, but can't believe Mick or Eddie would get sucked in, or allow the players to get sucked in, by the idea that it will be all one way next year. Someone always bobs up, and injuries can ruin any teams year.
