You'd think SL were on track to bottle it after the two runouts but credit to the next three batsmen who picked up the innings with barely a drop in the tempo.

I tuned in when Perera hobbled off injured, bar Gunaratne's first 3 balls they made the last 50 or so runs look incredibly easy.

What a fantastic chase by Sri Lanka today!! They chanced their arm and got a bit of luck during the chase, which you inevitably need when chasing down a target of 322, but they were fantastic. So impressed by a number of their batsmen, and to have Angelo Mathews play like that having not played for about 10 months was absolutely crucial.

Sunday's game between India and South Africa going to be a must-see game. Let's hope this weather sorts itself out now, the next four group games should in theory all have something on them. Building up nicely.

Was also good to see some frailties in this India side. Widely fancied to win the tournament, understandably so, but one or two chinks in the armour appeared today which I'm sure will see a reaction for the team on Sunday. Presume Ravi Ashwin will have a very good chance of making the starting XI.

It's so nice to follow other matches in the comfort that your team is already in the semi finals.

Looks like there's something in the pitch for seamers, but you'd back Sri Lanka's side from a few years ago to chase 310-320 here. The 2017 version is another matter.

The 2017 version had it sorted too. Kohli living in dreamland if he thinks they had enough runs. Yea SL batted well, but a flat Oval wicket is historically not just a 310-320 pitch. England breezed past 305 against Bangladesh. England breezed past 305 in a 42 over match (won with 11 balls to spare) against SL. NZ scored 398 against England, who themselves ended up on 365-9 off 46 overs (rain interrupted). The one other game in the 3 years or so was SA messing up 340-350 and ending up on only 299, with SL imploding after a rollicking start. India need to set their sights higher or they'll be going home.

This is why Champions Trophy is such an excellent tournament (when it's not raining that is) Number 8 beats Number 1 and Number 7 beats Number 3. **** the big teams.

Yep. It's harsh but you can't score 125 in the year 2017 and not even end up striking at 100.

Both Dhawan and Sharma have scored a lot of runs in ODI cricket together but IMO you can't have two openers strike at 70-80 for their first 40-50 runs. Someone needs to gun it.

I think we did that already tbh. Ashwins been out of rhythm for a while and Jadeja has generally been the better ODI bowler. Shami didn't look fully fit in the warmup games while Yadav has been excellent.

Yeah this wasn't a loss you can attribute any of the blame to on selection imo.
