Simple. He opens next game.Man, what if Woakes goes on and makes eight?
Fine yes, but hardly exemplary like Boland and Cummins. He’s been fine ffs
Who’ve both had games off ffs. And Cummins was pretty ordinary last test save one spell second dig tbh. This criticism of Starc this summer is bizarre.Fine yes, but hardly exemplary like Boland and Cummins.
Oh look, has someone just registered a PROTECTED SPECIES?Who’ve both had games off ffs. And Cummins was pretty ordinary last test save one spell second dig tbh. This criticism of Starc this summer is bizarre.
But it's a gentleman's game...Boland's 1/32 here could have been another 6/8 with less edges threw slips and more catching
Er, did you not see what happened yesterday?I know it's not an unusual thing to have said, but what sort of cr*ppy stuff is that from Ramprakash? "If it's a slightly tricky pitch then you've got to play a few strokes before a ball comes along with your name on it. No point looking to dig in for a 4-5 hr hundred".
Sometimes that's exactly what you've got to do. OK, sure, so you've got to take every scoring opportunity when it comes your way. But the golden rule on tricky pitches is still to make bowlers get you out. If no player gives their wicket away - the opposition still has to produce 10 wicket taking balls. If they only need to produce 5-6 then you might as well give up any hope of a decent score.
A pitch where 100a.o. is a match winning score maybe. But not something like this. And batting WILL get easier.
The last partnership was just about the biggest of the innings wasn’t it?A few years ago England were regularly digging themselves out of big holes with important contributions from 6 down. Now it appears they effectively give up at that point and are happy to score 50 more tops.
