Things have eased up again as the ball has gotten old. How tf is Smith striking at that rate? It's ridiculous.

What I love about Smith is how he is able to adapt his technique to different conditions and fields. It's mind boggling to watch. That late cut off Archer was ridiculous.

He’s just got so much time, it isn’t fair. Wearing pitch, day four and he’s nearly going a run a ball after coming in at about 2/15 against a quality, fired up new ball attack.

He literally changes it in the same over depending on the field

The last bloke I saw with so many eccentric movements after the ball is bowled was Derek Randall, but Smith’s are more extreme and entertaining than his were

I’m supporting Australia and even I sort-of think Smith should **** off.

On the other hand, I think maybe no one else should be able to play because it is his game and no one else is capable.

10 more overs of this and declare. Australia shouldn't stop throwing the bat around even if they lose 2-3 quick wickets at this stage, even if there's the risk of getting bowled out with a lead of 360 or so. Go full intent.

Has anyone any idea why Root didn't start with Broad and Archer for a short spell after tea? No point in bowling them now that the horse has well and truly bolted. May not have worked of course, but surely more likely than when these two had settled into their innings again. Our current captain makes Cook's decision making look Brearleyesque. The only good thing about the likely outcome of this series is that it should make Root's position as skipper absolutely untenable.

In a funny sort of way this has been Smith's most impressive innings of the series.

He had every right to mentally relax this innings but he's taken it to another level, playing in a completely different way because that's what the side needed and he's done it superbly.

Still has to take 300 odd wickets before we change it from Kallisball tbh

I mean yeah we're at the point now where declaration, bowled out, it doesn't really make much difference.
