Another innings with a hot start but a significant stall after over 25. Interesting.

ok now stokes time. the all rounder of the cup.

Buttler has been poor for the last 5-6 games.

Geez ducked out for a bit and these three wickets have really brought the game back. Still plenty of firepower for England but they can't take as many risks for perhaps the next five overs now.

Camerawork showing that knuckleball very illuminating - thought there was something weird about that delivery but didn't realise what a clever variation it was.

Ian Smith clearly another who hasn't been paying attention to Southee's performances in ODI cricket over the last four years.

Big wicket that.

Also shows the ridiculousness of certain people complaining about Root - it's not easy to come in and smash it everywhere. It's one thing doing it in a bilateral series when there's nothing on the line, but quite another in a must-win World Cup game, and Root's ability to pick up singles from ball one is invaluable.

Southee meanwhile releasing all the pressure in the space of a few balls. FFS.

Ian Smith saying he never thought he'd be saying that they'd be trying to sneak through Southee's overs.

Seriously these NZ commentators watch every NZ game, I don't get how we're seeing such different things. Same goes for the selector/coach.
