International Debutant
This has been quite the series for run-outs: two in the first test, one in the second and four in this one so far.
No I'm aware of the rule change, I'm saying it's funny.you weren't aware of the rule change?
bit heavy on the tinfoil hat hereNo I'm aware of the rule change, I'm saying it's funny.
ie. Pick Pant because he's a better batsman, then he gets a hurt, and now you can just let him chill on the bench for the second innings while you're better keeper, that you didn't pick because he doesn't bat as well, can keep. And come the second batting innings Pant can just bat again. Almost like getting a bonus player.
?bit heavy on the tinfoil hat here
I think he probably will tbh.Pant won't be coming back to bat though will he?
Haha why would he though? He could come out to keep tomorrow.
Thats ****ed. Hope theyve IDed them and they cop lifetime bans. *****
Saw someone at the close of play saying some of the Indian players were chatting to the umpires as they were going off, now we know.
There's no rule against it and I don't see why not.Pant won't be coming back to bat though will he?
Yeah, it's hilarious when players get injured on the fieldThat was an enjoyably different turn of events than I was expecting today.
India's injury list is becoming hilarious, someone has pissed off a witch doctor too many, somewhere.
The lockdowns and restrictions just ruin all the fun of touring don't they? Usually you'd think coming to Australia would be like you've won the lottery and get to spend a couple months in paradise, but if you're locked down and unable to experience the place you might as well just stay in IndiaGeez it must be rough on the Indian players out there. Playing away from home in Australia is hard enough as it is. Now they're without key senior players, are breaking down injured, are falling behind in the series, and then this? Plus dealing with quarantines, 36 a/o, their dads dying, their babies being born, a global ****ing pandemic...
I thought this too but I looked up the rule change and umpires still have discretionary power to tell subs they aren't to keep if they think teams are taking the piss. There's no rule against it and I don't see why not.
Not that this would ever be a regular occurrence at all, but theoretically you could not even pick a keeper and just pick your next best batsman instead, then say one of them had a minor injury (which would often happen anyway) and get a free specialist keeper for the game that doesn't have to bat.
Wasn't trying to skite. More meant it is ludicrous/amazing/etc.Yeah, it's hilarious when players get injured on the field
Yeah it's a very niche scenario that you could take advantage of the rule tbfI thought this too but I looked up the rule change and umpires still have discretionary power to tell subs they aren't to keep if they think teams are taking the piss.
