Might sound a bit harsh, but is there is a point in persevering with Malan now? Blokes 35 next September and it's just really frustrating the way he can't kick on. May as well go with a Abell, Lawrence or a Hain and just blood them next summer (or early next year)

Sue me but I think this England middle order is strong AF. I know there's potential for collapse but Root, Stokes, Bairstow, Buttler is intimidating on paper. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they get to 5-280 or something at stumps.

Yeah let him focus on the limited overs stuff where he is good but showing signs of decline, no point in him tying to figure out the format of the game he has always been rubbish at in this stage of his career.
