Given how often we played and missed in the first 4 overs, I just put down the one we nicked to bad luck and discounted it entirely.

I don’t think you necessarily need a good score. Something under-par would be okay provided that you use up most of the ‘good’ batting conditions.

Very hard how to say on day one how hard it'll be to bat on day five. Much easier to guess how hard batting will be today.
