Debuted in Australia in 2016/17, Chappell Hadlee series. Improved quite a bit since.

if he learns to swing it nz have a real bowler on their hands. he's fast, smart and can bowl good areas. shame he's just a bit one dimensional.

nz have cultivated a bad habit of asking their modern quick bowlers to just focus on wheels all career.
This is a good pitch for him. He's getting just enough movement which is making him dangerous.

Early days etc etc and in a sense it's good that the fears of runfests haven't materialised and bowlers are having a good sniff, but this hasn't been the most compelling trio of games to start the tournament (at least, if this one continues along its trajectory)

Not sure what was missing from the opener other than being close?

This is woeful from Sri Lanka.

Potentially three blowouts in as many games, and I'm not hoping for anything less than a blowout in Aus vs Afg.

Against Malinga and Lakmal on current form that would still be creditable.
Right - but ideally we don't want an opener that would average 2 for the rest of the tournament after a 60. Which is basically last home season (slight exaggeration - but he looked mighty out of his depth)

This is terrible for SL. In for a tough tourney. Not unexpected to some extent.
