yeah i'm switching off until NZ come out to bat

seems like India might be the only competitive Asian team this time round
Don't write off Pakistan yet. Yes reaching semis looks tough but they may cause some upsets still.

I was hoping for a closer/longer game today after yesterday's smashing. Sri Lanka batting first had me worried, and for good reason it seems.
Hope Afghanistan's first game goes better than Pak's and SL's. It'll depend on how their defensive players play (Rahmat Shah, Asghar)

Cant call this pitch a minefield either it just been a lack of application from Sri Lanka batsman.
Most ODI dismissals are off soft shots in fairness.

But yes apart from Karunartne and maybe Perera they've all been ****. Mendis/Thirimanne got a jaffa first up I guess.

I wonder if the Windies will bowl short at them too?
Don't see why not. I don't think the plan for any team against India is to worry about leaking runs. Getting through the top order by the 15-20th even if they go at 7 an over is worth it.

Karunante played a very good innings for not a noted one day format player
I like him, but I do kind of feel that slow but battling fifties whilst the rest of the team fails around him, whilst creditable in themselves, might be the most he has to offer in this format
