We finally won a game!
Shocking that we went through the whole tournament without actually beating another Full Member, yet cruising against the Associates. I'll still take heart from that.
Pundits on Sky calling for an overhaul of the domestic set up, including something along the lines of taking our best young players out of Championship cricket and letting them focus on the one day game, executing their skills, training camps, tours, etc.
Or, alternatively, we could just let everyone play some cricket.
We do not need more backroom staff, we do not need more programs, more stat-tactics (or stactics which is 2FL copyrighted) and we certainly do not need more backroom staff. I've said that bit twice, because that is how much we do not need them.
There are many things that need to change in English cricket. This includes the removal of financial incentives for playing young players, a T20 competition in a block and a total change of attitude. Also a recall for Luke Wright.
Would McCullum get the license to go nuts, would Malinga have had that action coached out of him and would Maxwell have had the continual chances he has had if they were all English? No, yes and no. It's pathetic how backwards our thinking is. Players do well for their counties but fail for England, and this is because of the set up and the tactics they are forced to relentlessly stick too.
