that was entirely unconvincing. NZ have that 'choking' feeling 3 times out of 6 group games. thankfully they've passed on all occasions, but its going to bite them in the knock outs against more seasoned opposition. West indies, south africa will fancy their chances after watching a videotape of scotland, australia and bangladesh group games.

Works both ways for Australia, whoever is playing them will fancy their chances as they can collapse in a heap with good bowling.

At least we won't be content going into the quarter. Thought McCullum was excellent in that speech.

<insert> your previous assessments of South Africa & the West Indies and everyone loses.

Guptill building into form, Tayor getting worse by the ball.

The Lord giveth, the lord taketh away.

If I had the choice I'd opt for an in-form Taylor.

A month of pool play comes to an end on Sunday, with a couple of places in the QFs still to be decided. So far so good.

A bit rusty all round, with average bowling, poor fielding, and 0 contribution from 2 of the big 3. Still, it's pleasing to see NZ chase a big total without contributions from BMac and KW, even if it was against a weak bowling attack. Hopefully Milne is back and fully fit soon enough.

Yeah I was pretty happy with Corey's innings there, and his bowling was excellent too.

It's not about ticking boxes. Boxes were ticked before the squad was selected.

It's about winning.
