he's got a very good technique for opening the batting in australia and in centurion and a dogshit technique for batting anywhere else in the world, and anyone who says otherwise is a buffoon

It’s not just the technique but the sometimes random shot selection and premeditated shots for no reason. But all the nonsense works because cricket is terrible.

Australian batsmen in Australia just can’t get out. Tale as old as time.
my feelings exactly the same, except for 85/86 when Sir Richard made them look like schoolboys.
perhaps they didn't score so big against India last year as well.
but generally Aussie batsman at home= constant flurry of runs.
