Only maybe 3-5ks it was more the angle and length. Yadav has been bowling at 148k+ which is good enough pace.
yeah but 5ks is a decent enough difference in pace especially if you want to push the batsman on the back foot.

But yeah angle also important

I get that MSD wants to get Maxwell and co. in as early as possible so we could possibly bowl Australia out before the full 50...but seriously so stupid to try the short ball.
Yeah, having Kohli come on in the first 15 overs and bowl short balls was definitely not the best way to take early wickets.

So apparently Mark Taylor likes MSD's decision to bowl Kohli and get into the minds of opposition batsmen.

Edit: Is this the worst piece of remark from a commentator or Ganguly suggesting Parnell should bat at 3?

The next 10 overs will probably decide whether Aus get 365+ or not. If Aus don't lose a wicket they can just go ham from 25 over on.

To be fair Mohit's short ball was atleast well directed, but he should have built up to it more. Yadav's over was just pure filth.

Scoreboard pressure isn't the way to go ATM. Need to get wickets. If Aus build a platform we are done. MSD has the right idea. Just not the right plans. Or the right bowlers.

Credit to him he did come up with the idea of trying to get Smith out

India shouldn't be bowling short at all. These blokes have seen their bowlers all summer. There's no surprise factor in them doing it. Five gets you ten if they drop short to Watson he will hit it onto Driver Avenue.
Oh yeah agree. The test matches followed the same pattern as this ODI has so far... some frankly decent bowling up front by Shami and Yadav when they just stuck to their normal lengths.

Then after 10 overs, they say "**** it let's bowl short". Just infuriating. Lord's 2014 was a curse. **** you England.

it's also the angle, really.
Angle, accuracy, pace, and also the pitch and older ball meant that some of Wahab's short balls got stuck in the pitch and some skidded through. He also bowled enough full stuff with a hit of wobble mixed with the short stuff, meaning the batsmen couldn't just camp on the back foot. Mohit and Yadav have both been back of the length, not enough full stuff.

Shami was perfect. A few good bouncers, made the batsmen hustle, because he was accurate with them, and used them as a surprise element with the full swinging ball the stock delivery.

Yadav's last over spoiled a good spell first up. Love Nostrils.

More that than pace.
yeah. Good example was how easily Watson swatted a Sohail Khan bouncer (which was way slower and pitched at about off) with ease, right after the Wahab spell. India's bowlers just don't possess the pace, the angle and the control to trouble the batsmen with the short stuff.
