It's clear Rahul is a significant downgrade on Dhawan. Except when ball is seaming when I expect Rahul to survive new ball better than Dhawan. In last game against Pakistan Rahul did a fairly good job handling Amir.

I remember this sort of thing happening with Sachin in late 90s when less gifted players around him consuming most of the strike.It is a crucial part of batting and the current lot do not need to look beyond their captain.

A classic case of doing nothing special but not atrocious enough to get dropped from the team. Should never have been picked in the first place.

Yeah that was distinctly unconvincing. Looked pissed off every time he played a dot ball, not particularly composed. Hogged the strike from Kohli but didn't go at much of a rate himself.

Then got out to a pretty standard leg-break on leg stump. Fail to see how India don't have a more impressive top order bat on the shelf.
