The problem with yorkers is that it's not a single spot on the pitch which you can practise aiming at - it largely depends on how the batsmen plays the ball. Good batsmen rarely get yorked not necessarily because the bowler is bad but because they see it coming and adjust their position in the crease and their batswing so they can still hit the ball cleanly. Jos Buttler is a brilliant exponent of this.
That's why I said that without the swing or reverse swing it's going to be hard for the bowlers. Starc's amazing spell was due to him getting the ball to hoop around, and it's incredible how well he can control those swinging yorkers. I don't think I've seen a significant reverse swing spell in ODIs for awhile now.

You still gotta use yorkers though. It's not a thing you solely rely on but as a variety.

What's the biggest margin of defeat in and ODI? Ireland's NRR will take a serious pounding.

Abbott looks a million times better as an option than Parnell. Almost feel like when Philander is fit again they should just go with 5 proper bowlers in Steyn, Morkel, Philander, Abbott and Tahir.

I love Abbott for the primal and raw way he charges in and bowls. Bowls really well too. He needs to improve his lines. Not consistent enough but that's okay when you can get wickets. Far better than Parnell, yes.
