We don't have a Jos Buttler or Morgan or anyone else who can hit yorkers for six/four except Smith. Sri Lanka have bowled a lot of really good yorkers.

We're overthinking this. Sometimes bowlers are allowed to bowl well at the death, as alien as it is these days.
This is hardly the first game this has happened, Marsh also wasn't dotting up against quality yorkers constantly.

Good last 5 overs from Sri Lanka, but 334 looks pretty secure given Sri Lanka's batting isn't great. England/India would fancy their chances of chasing it down.

Slower balls too. But mostly wide yorkers against Marsh. Obviously he shouldn't have come in before Carey, but when Maxwell is struggling maybe we should give the bowling a little credit.

It was the slower balls that they couldnt play rather than the yorkers tbh. Very good finish from SL, but that's still comfortably a winning score. Will be surprised if SL get close.

Scoring thingo on my broadcast showed two, them rolled it back to 1.

In any case Cummins should be batting 10-11 in ODIs atm.
Honestly I would probably take Kane Richardson over Cummins with the stick, not Dorff though

Noted former Redbacks number 3 batsman Kane Richardson that is

Also, loved the umpire giving Carey out on field. I've seen way more obvious run outs still referred upstairs. Old school umpiring

The slower balls were often yorkers too! They just really got it right once Smith got out. If Smith stays through at the end, easily 20+ more runs on the board since he's so good at disrupting a bowler's plans.

You just knew Finch had been gearing up for a daddy hundred. Great to see Smith go fast too.

Udana did great, for sure. Other two overs there was some hittable length that should have gone. SL do deserve a lot of credit,Aus just seem to haemorrhage end of innings wickets regularly. It might not cost them though as long as their top 3 are so amazing.
Yeah really was just Smith getting out which killed the momentum of the innings, even more than Finch.

Surprised they've kept Kane Richardson and dropped NCN. Starc looking dangerous as ever, but decent start this from SL.

All the Aussies have suddenly vanished from this thread lol

Very disciplined lot when it comes to going to bed on time, apparently.

Really good batting this. Some of Australia's bowling hasn't been great but they've belted anything remotely bad. This could be trouble.

These inside edges are annoying as hell.

Certainly an eye opening start. First time Cummins has taken some tap all tournament, and if you can score off Starc/Cummins, you can score off the rest.

I've got a new app that reckons the D/L par scores after 20 overs would be 84/0, 95/1 and 110/2. First of those certainly isn't far off

0/84 off 20 is surely far too slow for a score of 334? You'd need over 8 an over for 30 overs.
