He sometimes looks very floaty and aimless. He hasn't quite worked how he's going to get set Test batsmen out if "massive inswinger" stops working, and he sometimes doesn't look nearly as quick as the speedgun suggests.

He did look better in the fourth Test when Smith got him to bowl in a manner more akin to Johnson than how he'd been bowling before.
I can't see how Starc could be floaty and aimless. He was hitting the deck hard, swinging the ball and bowling with genuine pace. Thunderbolt yorkers at 150 klicks. That ain't nothing to joke about.

so, again, if we meet in a semi-final, where do we play? because that could end up deciding the wc.

some seriously sour puss posting from some of the neutrals in this thread. come on that was a great game of ODI bowling with a couple of batsmen showing their stuff.

what joke should i make first though? maybe to ask where the eden park short boundary haters are at? where they at???
Yeah, that was a seriously entertaining ODI.

You have to watch him in Tests to understand. I've commented many times that he can sometimes look the floatiest 150kmh bowler I've ever seen.

BTW this just reinforces my view that while a balance of bat and ball is the best, ball dominating the bat >>>>>>>> bat dominating the ball.

yeah he takes the crown from watto's 140 clicks days

the areas he often bowls don't help either.

With the way the pools are placed is it likely NZ could meet Oz in a semi?

The equation for NZ to win the WC is for Aus to lose to someone else. I can't see us beating Oz in Australia.

Whenever someone says something like this I just feel it's because ball dominating the bat is rarer. Not necessarily because it's great to watch. I swear if we regularly got 150 vs 150 games, and suddenly one day we got a 350-350 thriller, we'd all be saying "See, bat dominating the ball is better.... needs to happen more". We just get desentisized to the norm, that's all.
