2024 Ranking of Batsmen Poll

CricAddict

Cricketer Of The Year
Again my opinion, people can vote current players in all they want. I have no issues with it. I just won't. Don't like it, then just skip past my posts and put your opinion on the other thread where it belongs. This isn't the time or place. ✌
All for fun bro. Was just ribbing you. Os was also just kidding there.

About 30 votes indicates a far greater interest in the Batsmen Poll than there was for the bowlers.
A fairly predictable result:
57 - Richards; 51 - S.Smith; 37 - Gavaskar; 21 - Hammond; 6 - Sutcliffe; 5 - Headley, Kallis; 1 - Ponting, Williamson.
Richards is down 2 spots on the 2022 survey while Smith is up 2 spots and Gavaskar retains 9th place.

Voting is now open for positions 10-12 with a coveted Top Ten spot up for grabs.

Before I vote for this round , can someone explain me why George Headley would have been better batsman than Mike Hussey, Pujara , Jimmy Adams and Trott all of whom averaged near 60 when they had 2000 runs ? Why his case is more compelling?
I am curious ( Not trolling) .

Because George Headley scored those runs over 2 decades; scored plenty in the FC and during that time, he was termed "Atlas" for carrying WI's batting line-up on his back.

Even Dravid and Steve Waugh scored these runs. How is he better than them ?
