Watching the highlights of today's game, it wouldn't surprise me if Hazeldine was 150+. Yeah he bowls a lot of pies but I think the selectors should keep an open mind with respect to him in t20's. Bowling faaaast is a valuable commodity against bazball piss-takers

Ruben Clinton – 26-year-old MLC-capped Fort Worthian spinning all-rounder, it appears. Comes in for the injured Jake Gibson.
Sounds like another Saffa based on his Youtube channel I found! Very interesting background though.

I've been to keen on thinking NZ bowlers are a little quicker than reality before. I think he's more O'Rourke pace, but skiddy given the lower height (which, I think is actually underrated sometimes).

Also, how frustrating that probably the driest place in NZ ends up with a rained out game, cricket has a real way with things sometimes.

He was clocked at 145k earlier this season apparently, so he’s up there. Don’t know if that’s quick enough to make up for being inaccurate and pretty short for a quick bowler.

lolololololol Ellyse Perry's playing a couple of games for the Blaze. Surely that breaches the Geneva Convention?

Yeah, couldn't believe that Perry news when I saw it yesterday. Like the Blaze weren't stacked enough already.

Meanwhile, today's women's game is a fascinating low-scoring scrap. Sparks now 51-5 chasing 90.

32* as opener batting the full innings is impressive tstl

Yeah, Armitage has a bit of quality. Hope she gets a decent run in the England side.

Rowe with handy figures of 2-4 from 2.3 overs.

Jensen batting #8 is good depth for Otago, though. Pretty sure she's opened for NZ on occasion.

EDIT: Jinx.

That game was a lot of fun to watch.

The Hinds really need to find another good bat or two. They've got two of the best bowlers in the comp with Mair and Rowe, but they don't often have enough runs to work with.

Good conversation with Ben Smith the CD coach. Cleaver and Clarkson to be back from injury in time for CD's next game on the 4th (whilst Field is back from his second shoulder surgery today).

Debut for exciting young bat Sam Cassidy.

That was a bit more informative than most of those interviews they do. I think I remember Ben Smith playing for CD himself back in the day - reliable middle-order bat, IIRC.

Would be good if the men’s comp could get some overseas names
I just can't see it happening, realistically. Back when even the likes of Stokes & Jordan were coming here, the only competition was the BBL. There are way more options now, & the ones that would be in line to come here are probably not worth it.
As it is, I'm not looking forward to the WSS clashing with the WPL from next season.
