The only question with Bartlett is if the powers that be think he has enough red ball bowling under his belt at this stage, especially if Marsh is still in the team and not able to contribute much in the way of overs

Skills wise he looks like he absolutely has what it takes imo

A fairly typical JFM innings, if somewhat longer than usual.

At 4-331 when he came in, I'll take it. Just know though that he wouldn't have changed his approach in the slightest if he came to bat at 4-31 though

Sangha actually made lots of runs in Sydney grade to keep getting recalled too.
That's the thing, it wasn't like he was getting picked purely on underage runs. He did get a pretty absurdly long rope and he did have to go eventually, but there was definitely a player there IMO.

It is interesting re: his off-field professionalism apparently wavering when he was in NSW. Sometimes a change of scenery is what's needed, and sometimes people have **** mates in their home state. Can think of a few Shield guys who I think should consider changing states.

He's still averaging slightly more for the season than Gilkes is fwiw
Yeah I think they just think batting him lower might get the most out of him at this stage.

And I think this was always true but they probably gave him a shot batting higher because of he was a PONI.

Gilkes relentlessly getting picked still sucks though. Bring back Larkin.
